A/N: yo guys imma make a smut and fluff combined for Christmas. Why? Because why not. Also I'm trying to talk like Shino so I'm able to get his character right. I'm also trying to act like Shino irl for the same reasons.

Your eyes flutter open. You sit up and cross December 23rd off your calendar. Christmas Eve is today and you have absolutely no motivation to get up, but lady tsunade has assigned you and the rest of team 8, (besides kurenai-sensei) a mission with Shino as the leader. Considering the village is at a loss for ninja it's a b-rank mission. You need to escort a tea maker to some country. You know team 8 can handle it, even if there is a battle with enemy ninja. Especially, Shino. Shino can handle anything. You have and always had full faith in that boy.
You know the full extent of his abilities and for some reason he holds back most of the time. Knowing him, it's because he doesn't want his possible enemies seeing everything he's got. The only reason you know is, that you guys are almost always together and spar a lot. He challenges you to fights because for whatever reason, he thinks you're strong, stronger than the rest of the rookies and team 8. You think the same of him. Bugs are amazing, they can do so much, especially with Shino as their leader. You two are also best friends. You live close to him so sometimes you sneak out to his house and stay overnight occasionally. Your parents have only caught you a few times. You secretly have a crush on the boy. Nobody knows but you think Shino or Hinata might've figured it out. Besides Shino, Hinata is your next best friend.
Your mom calls your name and asks if you're up. You say yes and put on your ninja clothes and tie your hair up. You grab a rice ball from the kitchen counter and yell to your mom that your on your way out to another mission.
You get to the gates and meet up with your team. "Everyone is here?" You ask. Shino says, "No." And pauses before opening his mouth to talk again and you say, "How could I forget? That dumb noisy dog isn't here. And Akamaru." You laugh and Hinata giggles. Shino just looks at you, as expressionless as always.
You guys wait for about a minute before Kiba approaches you all, while jumping and screaming. "Typical Kiba." Shino mumbles. Kiba says "ok lets go!" And starts running off. Shino says, "Wait. Kiba, I believe I am the leader of this mission." Kiba grunts as you giggle and run even closer to Shino nuzzling into his side. He blushes slightly but then regains composure.
He says, "Everyone follow me. It's this way." He starts walking with you close behind him. Hinata is behind Kiba and Akamaru and behind me and in front of Kiba is the tea maker.
You all continue walking until about 7 hours later. The tea maker says while hyperventilating, "I need a rest." Shino says, "Alright we'll stop here." It's about 6pm so he starts setting up tents a bit away from each other, just so we can't see each other, and says, "Tea maker you get your own tent. Since Hinata and Kiba are very close, do you guys want to do guys and girls or y/n and myself and Kiba and Hinata?" Kiba says, "I think the 2nd one's good." You are secretly relieved that you get to sleep with Shino and you know that Kiba is a kicker so Shino is relieved as well.
Shino says, "Then it's decided. Y/n and I will sleep in this tent and Kiba and Hinata in the other." You guys both climb into the tent together and start talking. "Hey Shino, did we bring food?" He replies, "No. Would you like to go gather some?" You say, "Yes of course. Lets tell the others." You say outside of Kiba and Hinata's tent, "Shino and I are going out to get food." They both say, "ok" back.
You and Shino head out to a nearby stream and he finds a berry tree with edible fruit. He says, "These are not poisonous." And eats one. You go over to him and eat one also. You continue to collect many berries until the sun starts going down. You ask him, "Should we head back now?" He says "Yes." And you two start walking.
