The dinner table was packed with food as the Miller family dug in; Edith resisted her urge as she nibbled on nearly nothing but a small serving of mashed potatoes. No gravy.

Casey turned to her sister and smiled "Not hungry?" she asked.

Edith shook her head "Not really." She said.

Richard put his fork down as he over heard the conversation between the siblings "Still haven't gotten that back yet, huh?" he asked.

Casey shook her head "She's lost like…what, nearly 20 pounds?" she said, turning to Edith.

"Haven't really been keeping an eye on it." Edith admitted, taking another small bite of her mashed potatoes.

Karen scuffed "Edith, you've got to eat something! You're turning into nothing but skin and bones." She said.

Edith softly rolled her eyes as she turned to her sister, who looked at her in a disproving manner.

"You know what, I'm just gonna start doing dishes." Edith remarked, tossing her napkin on the table and taking her nearly spotless plate with her into the kitchen.

Casey sighed as she watched her sister walk away "Edie!" she proclaimed, but Edith never came back.

The older sibling turned to her mother "You should really lay off her, mother!" she hissed, taking her plate and swiftly moving into the kitchen.

Richard and Karen looked at each other for a moment, wondering where their perfect vacation had gone wrong.

Edith felt like she was nearly going to break the marble off the counter as Casey walked into the kitchen.

"Ignore her! It's like every time we see her she's even more of a bitch." Casey said, tossing her plate into the sink.

Edith shook her head "I don't think she likes the fact that…that…I don't know what." She said, turning around to now lean against the counter.

"That since you're now brain defection, mom doesn't want anything to do with you?" Casey asked.

Edith looked up at her sister in surprise "Exactly! I mean, she's always been superficial about stuff like that." She said.

Casey nodded "Well, hey, it's not like you're living with her and dad anymore! When this weekend is over, you'll go home—with me, and things will be normal again!" she said, reassuring her sister.

Edith smiled "I guess." She said softly.

Casey returned a smile "It's gonna be a good weekend in the vacation house, okay?" she assured her.

"Okay." Edith said with a smile, now suddenly feeling that one feeling she could never explain as she turned around to face the window.

Casey looked at her concerned "What?" she asked.

"I'm getting that feeling again." Edith said.

            "What feeling?" Casey asked.

Edith looked out the window for a moment; she couldn't see much but the moonlight bouncing off the ground.

"That feeling I'm being watched." Edith said.

Casey stroked her sisters' hair as she sighed "Hey," she said, forcing Edith to face her "…he's gone. He can't hurt you!" she assured her.
