**Ashton's POV**
1 week later
"Garrett! We can't be late again! This is the tired time this week where Cassandra will be waiting for me." Thank God it's Friday, I'd probably be dead any day now if I had to go through anymore of this. "If that's not going to get you moving remember it's Mackenzie's birthday!"
Crap! Of course I forgot to go out and get a present for Mackenzie. I barley even know what to get the child! If she's anything like Cassandra, I'm absolutely screwed. Cassandra won't even open up to me! I honestly wouldn't even know what to get her for her birthday.
That's not going to stop me by any means. One day, Cassandra will realise that I can help her. Hopefully she'll give up on her dream of finding Superman. I seriously don't understand whys he keeps waiting. I can understand most things and I can keep a positive attitude, but this just doesn't seem right.
I've been trying to get Cassandra to like me, but I don't think she's gotten the message. Of course I don't think she's trying to get the message. Although, I am getting closer to her. Maybe she just needs some time, even though four months is a lot of time. Okay, I should stop thinking negative, it is Mackenzie's birthday after all!
Which brings me back to the topic of a present, what are we getting her? If only Garrett would hurry up, he would know. He would know what to get her, he spends all of his time with her. He also spends all his time getting ready.
"Garrett! We're already five minutes late, Cassandra is going to be mad! We can' be late on Kenzie's birthday." I yell to him again.
"Daddy, I'm coming. Just give me a minute." Garrett yells backs. I wait a few seconds before hear his bare feet running on the wood floor. Finally, we can leave.
As Garrett gets closer, I can smell a strong smell cologne scent. Your seriously have to be kidding me. No wonder he took so long! I think someone has a little crush on Mackenzie, if he's getting all done up for her. When he actually comes into sight I can see the real damage, which is quite funny.
He took his hair and put it up into a messy quiff, much better than any I could do. He put on jeans and a blue button down polo. I do have to say that he's a little Casanova, which is strange because he's only four. I don't think I should be giving him love advice this early on, but does he need it? I don't want his heart crushed at age four.
Never mind that, I should be worrying about the little pink bag in his hands. To make it even cuter, he has toilet paper instead of tissue paper. I really think he's going to break hearts someday, all he needs to do is win them first. Thats something I sadly can't help him with, because I haven't figured it out yet.
"Garrett, whats in the bag? Please don't say its one of my Nerf guns! Those are collectors items, I got them in Australia. That makes them even more valuable." I frantically tell him, I don't want to loose my Nerf guns. Those things are my prized possessions, I would cry if I lost even one of them. Their my babies, I've had them since I was Garrett's age.
"Don't worry dad! I made her a bracelet out of macaroni and beads. Its al glittery and its her favourite colour. Now don't we need to leave or something?" He asks me, grabbing his schoolbag and sippy cup. I'm taken aback at his sudden confidence, it was totally unexpected. I've never seen that side of him, it's slightly unnerving. Thats what I should be needing to talk to him about, not love.
"Uh.....yeah. Let's just get going. We should've already been there, Ms. Mindy might be mad at you too. I think once she sees you she might change her mind." I honestly would be surprised if she found his gesture, bad. He got all ready so he could look nice for Mackenzie's birthday. How could she not find that cute? "Go put your shoes on and get int the car, I'll meet you there."

FanficAll have scars, but some of us deal with them differently. Some of us go crazy and wait for someone just to come and save us, a modern day "Superman" .
