⠀⠀Josh was having a bad week. First there had been the disaster at the bonfire. He had thought he had finally worked out what Kalani had meant; that all this time she had wanted him to date Ava. Apparently not.⠀⠀

⠀⠀And then there was his meeting with Nia. Needless to say it hadn't gone well.⠀⠀

⠀⠀"You're an asshole!" She spat at him as soon as he opened the front door. "But it's too late now! You lost your chance with the most amazing girl and now you have to live with that!"⠀⠀

⠀⠀"I - What?" Josh had stuttered in confusion. He knew that Ava and all of the other girls in the group were massively annoyed with him, but what did Nia mean by that?⠀⠀

⠀⠀"I mean Kalani!" Nia had shrieked. "It's too late now! You're too late! She's with Nathan now and they're happier than you ever will be without her!" Josh had felt like he was going to pass out. Him and Kalani? Kalani and him? Surely that wasn't what she had wanted? But then it had always been him and Kalani.⠀⠀

⠀⠀"Oh my god!" He cried, as the realisation finally hit him. "What have I done?" Nia raised an eyebrow.⠀⠀

⠀⠀"The wrong girl. Repeatedly."⠀⠀

⠀⠀She walked away, throwing Josh one last look of contempt as he sat down on the porch, trying to stop himself from punching the ground. He had never believed in love but now he sure as hell believed in heartbreak.⠀⠀
