TEN YEARS LATER...

Even before I open my eyes, I know that it is exactly seven o'clock in the morning here in New York City. I can already hear the cars honking on the streets and the people hollering at each other to pick up the pace. It's the sound of New York City and I'm too all too familiar with it after living here for nearly three years. If it weren't for my alarm clock that went of five minutes later, I know I would have slept through the morning without opening a single eyelid.

Groaning, I slam my hand down onto my alarm clock but I end up closing my eyes shortly afterwards.

A few seconds later, I feel somebody's hot breath trickle the back of the neck and let out a soft boyish chuckle, "Jess," a deep voice whispers into my ear, sending shivers down my spine."We have a flight to catch if we wanna be home in time for Christmas Eve."

A small smile forms on my face as my eyes remains closed. "Our home is here," I remind him.

He laughs. "New York City and Toronto are both are homes," he confirms. "but all our family members in Toronto, so unless you wannna miss out on a big dinner tonight, we can just stay here.

            "I'm lazy."

I feel him rolling his eyes. "Get up."

            "You can't make me."

"I take that as a challenge."

Almost immediately a pair of hands starts tickling my sides and my eyes flicker open as I burst into laughter. "Stop it!" I cry out, trying to swat his hands away. "Let me rest for another five minutes or something!"

He grabs my hands and forces me on my back as he gets on top.

"Get off of me!" I cry out, laughing.

When I look up, I see that Drew is just laughing as he just continues to hold my hands in restraint. I try to move my away around his grasp, but considering the fact that he is much stronger than I am and he is literally on top of me, I eventually stop resisting and just look up to Drew with narrowed eyes.

            "You win," I mutter.

Drew gives me a sly smile as he losens his grip on my hands. "I always win," he staes as he leans down to give me a kiss

I smirk as I quickly grab his hands and switch positions with him.

Laughing, I tuck a lock of my dark hair behind my ear as I look down onto Drew with a grin. "No, actually, you don't," I reply. "The wife always wins, remember? Happy wife, happy life."

Drew smiles as grabs my left hand where my wedding ring is and kisses my hand. He then looks up to me and softly chuckles. "Our anniversary is in two days," he says in a low tone as if he is telling me a secret. "What'd you get me?"

I snort. "Oh, right. We got married the day after Christmas," I say, sarcastically. "How long have we've been married again?"

            Drew smirks. "Three years now..."

            "Ew."

            "You're ew."

I laugh. "What did you get me, huh?"
