HERBERT “DARING” DASHWOOD: (V.O.) You’re listening to the Adventures of me, Herbert “Daring” Dashwood, and my stalwart ghoul manservant, Argyle. Today’s episode? “Back at the Cabin”.

THEME MUSIC CONTINUES TO 0 M 10 S.

SCENE: INTERIOR. A RADIO IS PLAYING SOFTLY (“Maybe”, The Ink Spots)

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: Well, Argyle? What do you see out the window? Can you see my brother anywhere? What about Cassandra?

ARGYLE: Still no signs of the boss or of the dame, and it's getting dark. This sure is taking him a long time.

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: But not too long, right? I mean, Bertie does this sort of thing all the time, right? And he's really good at this adventuring stuff, and will bring Cassandra back safe and sound, right?

ARGYLE: (DRAWN OUT AND DOUBTFUL) Well . . .

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: Well? Well, what? Well, he won't bring back Cassandra?

ARGYLE: No, no, that's not what I meant! (SIGHS) What I meant was, well, normally he doesn't do this at all. I usually don't let the boss out of my sight. Don't get me wrong, your brother is - (PAUSES FOR A MOMENT, AS IF IN THOUGHT, THEN CONTINUES) He's a good guy. But he rushes into things. Especially dangerous things. I'm always more comfortable when I can keep an eye on him.

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: You don't think my brother could be in danger, as well as Cassandra, do you?

ARGYLE: I've got to admit, I'm worried.

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: (DECISIVELY) Then we're going to go rescue them!

ARGYLE: We are, are we? You're not going anywhere until you're completely better - remember the part where the boss hit you in the head with the shovel? Can you even stand up, yet?

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: (SULKING) He's a horrible older brother.

ARGYLE: He did it for your own good, Mr. Wilberforce. Anyhow, you aren't going anywhere.

WILBERFORCE DASHWOOD: I'm fine, I swear! Look, I'm getting up, I'm standing - see? - Now I'm walking over to -

SOUND EFFECT: LOUD CRASH

ARGYLE: (VOICE DRIPS A SENSE OF LONG-SUFFERING PATIENCE) Let me help you up, Mr. Wilberforce.
