Millicent and Victor spent most of October and November strolling around the Paris World's Fair. It was the only October Millicent would ever spend away from home.

They witnessed the German pavilion with its swastikas and modern minimalistic style. Victor appreciated the work of Hitler's architect, Albert Speer, and found inspiration in his innovative designs.
