I am still annoyed that Loki stole one of my stories for the Tricksters' Cadre, not because I wouldn't want it here but more because I missed the theft. But as the story concludes and I know it's going to be awhile before I live this down.

I realize that I have taken my eyes off you. You are on the other side of the opening, poised to pounce, dagger drawn.

"What are you doing?" I hiss.

You are already in motion

You are already in motion. You really are only here for nefarious purposes.

How disappointing

How disappointing.

For half a moment, I debate whether I should ask you why you did this or what you hoped to accomplish. Obviously some sort of gain, and whether that be fortune or fame, you have been warned, and...eh...

I lunge at you

I lunge at you. For a few moments, we struggle, striking at one another. Your dagger blade clips my shoulder, but I punch you in the face. "What do you think you're doing?" I demand.

"Ha!" you shout. "I fooled you. I'm actually an agent for one of the other teams, and now your stories will be ours."

"Ha!" I respond. "The joke's on you. I suspected it from the start."

"You'll never leave this place alive," you chortle (seriously though, nicely done on the chortling and fighting).

"Ha!" Not the sharpest of comebacks, but you punch me in the gut, so it's about the best I can manage. I grab your hair, and the fight resumes.

We're far from silent now. We clatter around on the stones. You slash at my face. The blade slices my cheek, but I grab your wrist, crack it against the stones. Then, leaping back, I strike you again. "There's one thing you forgot," I snap.

"Oh yeah? What's that?"

"I'm the queen of the tricksters." I punch you again. You careen backwards, strike the edge of the overhang, and fall over.

It's quite a brilliant sight

It's quite a brilliant sight. You fall straight into the pit of fire down below, and then, with a brilliant flash of fire, you go up in flames.

Leaning over the edge, I find myself wondering if perhaps I've overreacted.

Hmmm.

I think not.
