"The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them."

-----Rob's POV-----

The rest of the weekend went by faster than it usually does, before I knew it I was walking home with Tym.

Time Skip (Close to Christmas)

There were a few more days before Christmas and Tym and I were at the store getting some christmas presents for Dylan and Preston. I decided to get Preston a picture of both of us together, and I got Dylan a suicide squad poster. I didn't really see what Tym got for them. It was christmas break from school so we had two weeks off of it. We were staying at Preston's for them and celebrating it with their parents. Once I got back to their house I ran upstairs to our room and hid the present somewhere, so I could wrap it when he leaves the house. Once I hid it Preston walks into the room.

"Rob, what are you getting me for Christmas?"

"Something."

"Why won't you tell me?" He whines.

"It would ruin the surprise." I told him.

"Fine then don't tell me, I didn't want to know anyway." He walks away. We decided that instead of preparing for Christmas today we will go outside and have a snowball war. I put on my boots, a big coat, and earmuffs. Preston was in the same thing except his were bright red, like lava and mine were blue, like the sky. Dylan was wearing a bright green suit, and Tym a dark purple. We all went outside and prepared by making small hideouts, and pre-making snowballs. Dylan shouted go and everyone started running around throwing the snowballs, I stayed in my fort and waited for someone to come to me. After a while and no one was coming I decided to look over and everyone was in the middle of the forest talking with something. I thought that I should probably go see what it was, when I got there I was surprised to see a bear that could talk. I went to Preston and whispered to him.

"Who is this?"

"It's Jerome, he is a bacca morph." He said it so calmly like it actually makes sense.

"What?"

"He is explaining how he sensed an outside source of energy and doesn't know what it is."

"--- This source is very strong so be careful, it doesn't seem to be moving so we should all split up and search it could be passed out." Once he said that Preston grabbed my arm showing that we would be a group, Jerome teamed up with Tym and that left Dylan by himself.

"I'll be ok by myself, it will give me time to think." He says.

"Ok, we will go that way." Jerome says pointing north.

"I will go that way." Says Dylan, pointing to the west.

"We will go east then." Once we said that we all started walking our separate ways.

-----Dylan's POV-----

Once we all headed our separate ways I kept my eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Every once in awhile I will see a bird that I thought was it, but then it flew away. Jerome says it would be passed out or not moving. I reached the border that we made and looked across it seeing something gray laying in the snow. I decided to investigate, one of these days my curiosity is going to kill me. I reached the gray pile and it was a light gray shade. I grabbed a stick off the nearest tree and poked it, it didn't move. It was too heavy to turn over, so I had no choice but to use my hands. I picked it up and it was a person, they appeared to be sleeping. I didn't want to wake them up and have them mad at me so I carried him outside the forest. When I got out, I brought him to my house and brought him to my room, my parents were gone Christmas shopping. I laid him in my bed and tucked him in trying to keep him warm. After about an hour I heard everyone else come into the house.

"What do you think it was?" I heard Rob say.

"I don't know but Jerome told me it moved somewhere else." Tym said.

"Where do you think it went?" Preston asks.

"I just noticed something, where's Dylan?" Tym asked them.

"Knowing him he is probably in his room and gave up searching." Preston said. I heard them start towards my room.

"Yeah, I'm in here." I say.

"Ok, just making sure." Preston says. They walk away after that. I didn't know what to do with this person, so I just left them in my bed and went to get extra blankets and was planning on sleeping on the floor. It was only 4:00 I knew supper was going to be getting cooked soon. Once I got to my room I put the blankets and extra pillow on the floor. I just sat at the end of the bed studying the person there, I really want them to wake up. I didn't want to be mean so I can wait for him to wake up. I must've lost track of time because someone walked into my room.

"You weren't there for supper---" Their sentence drops in the middle.

"Who's that?" They ask.

"Shh, I don't know I found them while looking."

"Is that the energy source Jerome was sensing?"

"I don't know but can you close the door?" Once Tym closes the door she walks over to the body.

"He doesn't look harmful, Jerome said it was a powerful source."

"Yeah, that's what I was confused about."

"We should tell the others."

"No, not yet. I want to figure out who this is first, and what it is."

"Fine, but you have three days before I tell someone."

"Deal." She walked out of the room, leaving my supper for me. The person woke up after a few minutes confused at where he was. He started freaking out when he saw me.

"Shh, shh, it's ok I'm not going to hurt you." I tell him.

"Who-who are you?" He asks.

"I should ask the same thing."
