You we're getting ready to go to Rogers place arena, to see the Edmonton oilers face the New Jersey devils. You we're going with your best friend "Y/F/N", it was the first game you got to see this season. The Edmonton oilers are your favorite team in the NHL, you grew up watching them and fell in love with the sport. You we're super exited to go to the game tonight. You pull on your blue and orange Connor Mcdavid jersey and head out the door. Your friend is waiting for you in her car, "ready to go?!" She says. "Yes!!" You reply happily. The oilers were up 2-1 in the second period when, during the tv break, you got a tap on your shoulder. "Congratulations! You just won a chance to get a 50 dollar gift card to the oilers fan shop! All you have to do is answer these questions correctly within a minute!" Said a young man dressed in a suit. You we're astonished and quickly accepted. As the man explained the game to the crowd, you got a glance of yourself on the big screen. "Are you ready?" The man asked, "let's do this" you said with confidence "alright! You have one minute." "Question #1: Who is number 14 on the oilers?" " Jordan Eberly." You quickly reply, "correct! Question #2: who is the shortest player on the team?" "Ummmm, Drake Caggiula!?" You replied uncertainly. "Correct! Last question: when did the oilers last win the Stanley cup?" "1990!" You knew this one. "Correct!! You still have 10 seconds left! here's a bonus question: if you could go on a date with anyone on the Edmonton oilers, who would it be?" You laughed and replied "Connor McDavid!" You heard a few cheers from the crowd and smiled. The tv break was coming to an end just as you sat back down. The man who asked you the questions gave you instructions to where you can collect your reward after the game. "Well that was exiting!" Your friend said, "im just glad I got them all right" you said laughing. The oilers scored two more goals and the final score was 4-1. You and your friend followed the instructions down to a room at ice level. You knocked on the door and recognized the man who had questioned you during the game. "Hey!" He said, "you're gonna have to sign some papers over here." He gestured to a pile on the table. "Im going to go warm up the car." "Y/F/N" said to you. "Alright, I'll text you when i get out" you reply as she walks out the door. "So if you could please sign here.. and here." The man says handing you the papers. "There ya go, here's your gift card enjoy!" "Thank you!" You walked out the door after about an hour of signing papers. You stop in the middle of the hallway to text your friend, she was probably getting annoyed by now you thought. You looked up from your screen at the sound of a door opening, you couldn't believe who was standing in front of you. Connor mcDavid. "Oh my god!" You say out loud. He laughs "hi" he says with a grin on his face. "can I have a picture?" You ask, he says "how bout a date instead?" You look up at him confused "with me?" You say, "well yeah with you!" He says laughing. "Oh, um okay." You say a smile growing on your face. "Are you free tomorrow?" He asks, "yeah I have the day off" you reply. He hands you his phone and says "what's your number?" You take the phone and make a contact for yourself. " "Y/N", that's cute." He says, you never noticed how pretty his eyes were up close. "So you like hockey,eh" he says. "it's only the best sport ever." You reply. "I agree." He says laughing. You feel your phone buzzing in your pocket. "I really gotta go, my friend has been waiting for me for about an hour" you say getting ready to go. "Oh, where do you live i can drive you home" he replies. "Really? That would be super nice thank you!" You say, texting your friend that she can go. You follow Connor out to the parking lot and get into his truck. You tell him where to go and he says "oh okay, I know where that is I used to have a friend who lived there" "oh that's cool" you say. You sit in awkward silence until Connor says "what's your favorite color?" You laugh, "my favorite color?" "Yeah, who are you what's your favorite animal, I want to get to know you" he says. "Alright, well my favorite color is "Y/F/C" and my favorite animal is "Y/F/A", what about you?" You say. "Well my favorite color is blue and my" you interrupt him by saying "it's right here on the right". He stops the truck and you bother get out,he walks you up the pathway to your apartment building door. "Tomorrow at 6:00?" He says his hands in his pockets and his eyebrows raised. "Sounds good, goodnight" you say with a smile. "Goodnight" he leans in and gives you a kiss on the cheek, you smile and walk up to your apartment barely believing that Connor McDavid just kissed you.
