Visiting day

The next day is visiting day. My younger sister Sofi never comes because she doesn't want anything to do with me, apparently (12 year olds) so I already know that Mum will be my only visitor today. I sit amongst a sea of other kids I vaguely know by face, all sat down at formal desks matched up with a plastic blue chair for them and two empty cushioned chairs on the other side for the visitors. I stare at the empty chairs in front of me. The air around them quivers and a shadow appears. It takes the chair. A drop of sweat trickles down my neck. Why isn't the medicine working like it should? The shadow's 'face' slowly gets closer to mine. I can feel that my heart rate it quickening. It's coldness barely grazes the skin on my neck before it dissolves into the air. I look around at everyone who has noticed what has happened. My panting is the only thing heard in the dull room. Dr Lawson rushes into the room and that the last thing I see before my head hits the floor.
