The long train ride

The two start walking kinda awkwardly
"So i never asked your name."
He jumped in front of her walking backwards
"Millie, Millie Brown." She stated bleakly
" that's a nice name, mines Finn, Finn Wolfhard."
Before Millie could reply her phone buzzed
Charles💙: hey sis I had a work thing come up I had to get on the train before you super sorry! Just buy a ticket to west river city I'll be at the station I promise! Sorry about this!
Millie was shocked and disappointed, she knew because Charlie was a doctor he wouldn't be at the house a lot so she decided to get used to it
" you ok MB ? " finn asked
"Yeah I'm fine, well it was nice meeting you!"
She looked down at her phone about to reply
But finn  stepped in front of her
" hey! Wait!  where's your brother? You can't possibly ride all that way all aloooooone."
Millie was starting to get a little uncomfortable
" No it's really ok you already walked all this way and you shouldn't waste money on a ticket just to come back here!" She tried her hardest to sound convincing but this boy was stubborn
" oh come on I know you'll love my company!"
She figured she couldn't stop him. After a quick text to Charlie and purchasing there tickets they found there seats near the end of the train
" So what brings you here MB?" Finn asked he wanted her to acknowledge the nickname he made for her.
" oh just-uh- visiting family! You know...."
she thought quickly on how to change the subject
"So why do you keep calling me MB ?" She questioned not wanting to talk about her parents
"Well, I thought it was kinda cute! Since I know we're gonna be friends we might as well have nicknames right?" He said jokingly
"Oh....right I understand i guess."
After a little bit of small talk for about 15 minutes finn finally mustered enough courage to confront Millie
"Listen, I understand if you don't want to tell me, but I know you were lying about just family stuff."
Millie tenses
"H-how did yo- I mean well it's personal family stuff." She stated plainly and with an annoyed tone
" ok ok, but just so you know, you blink fast when you lie."
He turned to face the window
Millie thought
I don't know if I like where this is headed
