When he saw you sitting across the bar, in that cute red dress, smile on your painted lips, he knew he wanted you. You were such a pretty little thing, so out of place in a bar full of men, him and the other mercenaries included. Luckily no one else had spotted you yet, so this was his chance. With a confident stride he walked over to you, puffing out his chest as he introduced himself. When he heard your soft giggle, his eye lit up, his need to impress you starting to overtake his thoughts. One drink led to two, which led to many more, which ended with you two in your apartment in a hot tangled mess on your bed. After that first night together, he knew he didn't want you, he needed you.

Over the years, you kept asking what he did; Demo always told you that you didn't need to know. Even if extremely curious, you trusted his judgement. You know he'd keep you safe.

Demo looked over at you with a soft smile on his lips, taking another sip of his scrumpty with a small sigh followed after.

"You know you shouldn't drink too much, Tavish. I worry for your health."

"I know lass, I know.." he murmured back, setting the bottle on the dark wood once more.

That's when a knock resonated through the house, no doubt from the front door that Demo hadn't opened in a while. He stood with a grunt and headed to the oak entrance, hand tightly grasping the golden handle and twisting. Before him stood his fellow mercenaries, all of them with worried looks in their eyes. Engineer was the one to have knocked, fist having raised as if he was going to do the action again. Slowly the Texan's hand lowered and he took off his hardhat.

"Tavish.. We're all worried about ya, partner. We know ya love her but.. Ya need ta let her go, an' ya know that.." He said, swallowing his accent in his throat as much as possible so he could properly speak to the Scottish man in front of him.

Said man looked down, his one eye glistening with tears, though it was not the first time. "I know but.. I looved her like no one else. She was my star.. I promised to prootect her.. I failed." He said sadly, looking back at where you were on the couch. Yet what you were was a picture in a stained wood frame, butterflies carved along the hard surface. Your smiling face only made it harder...

It was like any other night for the (h/c) woman when Tavish was gone for work again. She'd come home from work, get in pyjamas, then either watch tv, read, or finish work assignments that needed to be done. It was like a common ritual that was always brightened at 9pm when her love would call her. She would scramble happily for the phone, and they would regale details of their days to one another. Nether of them would ever, EVER miss a day. On rare occasions when it did happen, a later call would be filled with apologies and words of the tender love they shared.

The night was calm, as all other usual nights as the female exited her car and walked up the porch steps. Keys jingling in her soft hands alerted the people that waited for her inside. As she turned the golden handle and kicked off her shoes near the door, swiftly closing it behind her, the intruder readied to pounce. Only a few more steps.. Down the entryway.. Past the picture of her and Tavish smiling.. Past her beloved plant sitting upon a table. Then in happened, a quick flick of the wrist, twitch of a finger...

Boom.

A bomb, set off by a remote, exploded right under her feet. No doubt by the RED mercenaries enemies. No matter what paramedics tried, it was no use, she was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.

When he called that night, there was no pickup, no sound of her happy voice on the other end. It was the same the next night.. And the next. When word finally reached the base, and Demo was informed, the Scotsman broke down into tears.

You were gone.

He was alone.

Dell looked the depressed man right in the eyes, seeing the tears that pricked the corners. "We're here for ya, we want ta see ya happy again. Ya know (Y/n) would want that too." He said, placing a hand on Tavish's shoulder.

"But I promised her.. I promised she'd be safe."

"We know."

"I may be a demo man but.. That's the one thing I didn't want to blow.. I blew it.. I'm so sorry (Y/n).. So so sorry."

That was a broken man, sobbing in front of his friends. Yet when he felt a soft hand on his back, those tender loving words in his ear, he knew maybe, just maybe it would be okay.

"You didn't blow it Tavish.. I love you.."
