Chapter 27

Milo's pov

“right then Miss Grace, it seems that you have fully healed, you may be sore where the wounds have just closed and any blunt force to them will open them back up, so I want you to stay here for at least another day so I can watch you and the babies closely. Also because the silver stopped you healing as fast you will have the scars to your back and stomach area but they will fade with time” the doctor explained to a terrified looking Abby, her face dropping when he said she’d scar. I couldn’t care less her entire body could be covered in scars in my eyes she would still be the most beautiful girl in the world and the scars were better than her not being scared and not being alive

“I’ll be scarred” she repeated him looking over at me her eyes filling up

“Yes I’m afraid so but they will fade” he said turning to the machine the babies were hooked up to and started studying the print offs

“Baby its better you’re scarred and alive than not here” I smiled leaning over and kissing her cheek and wrapped my arms around her as she sunk into me

“Well I have to say these babies are re-writing the book in alpha pregnancies” he chuckled to himself ripping off the sheet and un clipping Abby’s bump from the machine

“Why, what’s wrong, are they ok” she said panicked sitting up straight wincing at the sudden movement

“Steady baby” I soothed helping her sit up, the doctor had to unwrap her bandages to examine her and to take the monitor off her so her angry red scar on her front was visible. She grimaced looking down at it as she moved obviously in pain from it but trying her best to hide, she wasn’t doing very well I could read her like a book

“What’s wrong with the babies” she pleaded with him her eyes filled with worry and sadness

“There’s nothing wrong with them, they are just defying all the odds technically they shouldn’t even be alive. Not only are they still alive they are thriving and growing faster than anyone thought. I give it three weeks tops and that is tops, if you went into labour in a week it wouldn’t surprise me” he smiled, for the first time today I might add. Her face looked frozen in shock mine wasn’t in the slightest; I’d heard it all before every day in fact when either him or Annabelle checked them. They were both so excited at the twins’ development, I’m guessing that seen as though Grant hadn’t found his mate and had children they hadn’t managed to work with an alphas children before.

“A week…seriously” she stuttered looking at me making me melt id waited so long to see those twinkling eyes again

“Maybe, but whenever they arrive they both will need checking out, the silver got into their blood too, so they both with probably have big scars too but apart from that they should be like any other new born” he said still smiling putting his hand on my shoulder looking down at me

“I’ll leave you guys to catch up and try to hold everyone else off for a little while”

“Thanks” I smiled back, my mood so much better now I knew she was ok, I felt like my entire body had been uplifted, I mean yeah I knew she had a long way to go and the babies were going to put a massive strain on her already fucked up body but just knowing she was alive and healed made me grin from ear to ear

He turned and walked out of the door clicking it quietly behind him. Smiling I looked up to Abby whose face was contorted up in horror

“Baby what’s wrong” I soothed shuffling closer to her on the bed and holding her tighter
