Ellie arrived at the headmasters office and was called inside quickly, she took a an empty seat beside Professor McGonagall ignoring the one beside Snape. He sighed to himself as he had her clear message forced upon him.

"Miss Fant, Hagrid has had contact with Madame Maxime. She has sent word that she will be paying us a visit for the Yule Ball next month..." Dumbledore explained, "next month? NEXT MONTH?" "Calm down, until then we have other information to help." Dumbledore reassured her, putting some parchments and a very old book on the table. "It's in French." Ellie stated blankly, "Aren't you captain obvious.." Snape scoffed under his breath.

Ellie glared at him and his smirk dropped. "The translation will be no problem, it can be done in the library... the parchments however have been most insightful." Dumbledore said, unrolling a parchment and passing it to Ellie. "Read it aloud." He insisted.

Albus,

I can help with information in regards to Ellie Fant's situation.
Claude had special powers such as being able to cast some spells without the need for a wand. And he also gained the abuility to talk to the dead.. something he found rather traumatising, and that is why he ended his life.

Rumours are that he finally found the answer on how to stop the dead from approaching him but he didn't put whatever it was into practice. It was speculated that he had a serious reason not to, maybe he was protecting someone or possibly he didn't have all the necessary means. It also was concidered that his suicide may have been made to look like one when in fact he was struck down by another's hand.

The only person who knows the exact facts about his death, was Claude himself.

If Miss Fant has the power to speak with the deceased it could be possible for her to gain answers from Claude?

All I am sure of is that Ellie is special in a way that makes her vulnerable. And it would be best that the fact she is in two houses is not made public knowledge.

If I can help in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact me. If not, I look forward to visiting for the Yule Ball.

Yours

Madame Maxime

"What the actual fuck?" Ellie panicked, "language Miss Fant, dear you must remain calm.." McGonagall soothed, as she shook in terror.

So many things went through her mind, what analogy said.. did he already know? Did her mother keep all this a secret from her for a reason?
"Everything is going to be alright, I promise you. You are safe here and I won't let anything hurt you." Snape told her honestly. McGonagall looked at Dumbledore and he smirked, causing the old witch to clear her throat and cut in to the conversation.

"I think you'd best leave her welfare to me Severus, I am after all her head of house." She told him whilst holding his gaze intently. "As am I Minerva, She is half Slytherin. Or have you already forgotten that? Old age is it?" He sneered. "Stop this at once! Minerva could you please escort Miss Fant to her next class? I wish to speak with our beloved potions master alone." Dumbledore grinned. Ellie followed McGonagall out of the room and the old witch led her to the charms classroom.

"Severus, is there anything you wish to discuss?" Dumbledore asked playfully, "No." Snape scowled, "hmm.. you seem rather fond of Miss Fant... it's not like you to be so, how do I put this... caring." Dumbledore chuckled to himself. "I don't know what you are insinuating Albus, but I do not take kindly to presumptions being made about my relationship with Miss Fant!" Snape barked, he hard feeling backed in to a corner.

"Relationship?" The old headmaster winked, making Snape turn red. "You know what I mean! do not twist my words." Snape groaned, storming out of Dumbledores office leaving a very amused Headmaster behind popping a sherbert lemon into his mouth.
