secret or lie

It was the day of educational trip, where the senior students will be visiting top universities in Seoul and be inspired to do well on the entrance exam,

They were all wondering and asking each other about where they wanted to go after highschool, that kind of spirit unexpectedly caught on to Taehyung.

"I think I want to reconsider my view on college", he nonchalantly spoke while walking beside me

I asked him why,
He said in a joking manner that it was the only pathway to provide me when we're married later.

I was thankful that he changed his mind about pursuing education, but to be reminded of the secret I kept from him, about K-NUA, threw me off.

"Hera", he called for my attention, "I've got a surprise for you"

"Hm, what it is?"

He took out a paper out of his pocket and carefully placed it in my eyesight. My eyes widen at what was written on the form,

"Taehyung, this is a placement test form for the college I asked you to check out!" I probably yelled a little too loud because the students that was listening to the tour turned heads towards us

"I know", he grinned widely, "I'll be taking the test this Saturday"

"Really?" I was surprised at his decision. This college is a twenty-minute apart from the main town, but still approachable and within the area.

I shrieked in happiness, "Good for you!" I wanted to hug him so badly, but considering we're in public place and in front of the students made me hold back, "Ah I want to hug you but I can't"

He was excited to see my reaction as well, "Such a shame that we're in public. If not, I would've kissed you at this spot as well"

I only shyly giggled at his words and nudged him in response, until he said this,

"I chose this college because I knew you applied here too"

My mind went from overjoyed to flat within seconds, resulting it to turn blank

"Uh w-what? No I didn't", I gulped hard as he chuckled

"Aye don't lie. I saw you coming out of the guidance counselor's office the other day", he confidently pronounced, "And you've been talking about this place with me like a thousand times"

No, I was there to tell the guidance counselor about my acceptance to K-NUA, to fill out my papers and to cancel my registration at the college we're talking about right now

"A-ah about that-"

Now's the time to tell him, isn't it?

His face slowly grew anxious at my delay of speech. He looked through my face, looking for any sign of me saying my reply

"Hera, you applied there, right?" I can see him doubting his interpretation, contemplating with himself whether he had predicted wrong and that his little dream of attending the same university will be crushed to pieces

"I...", avoiding his longing gaze, "Yeah of course, my test is this Saturday as well"

There it goes,
My first ever lie to him.
