Three of NOBLE team were back at the bridge, taking all the credit for something easy as usual. We start heading toward the landing pad that the Pillar of Autumn was docked at. Its sort of our backup, if Reach falls then we make sure it escapes, due to the "package". The Marines don't get told what this package is. All we know is a number. 117.

We make it to the landing pad. This is the closest I've ever been to the Pillar. We left the cliff site too fast, so had to go 60 more meters out and slingshot back to land. And then we see something horrifying.

Hundreds? No. Thousands? I wish. Thirty thousand Covenant troops of all forms, with at least 1,000 light vehicles and maybe 60 Wraiths and Cruisers. The view of the battle from above is horrible. Buldings burning. Bodies piling up by the second, with no time to check whether they were dead or alive. When this amount of destruction came over the horizon, the truth was clear to every Marine.

Reach had fallen. The Pillar of Autumn was the only achieveable goal now.
