Eventually the Warthog went through too much damage, and we literally didn't even get off until the fire started burning us. Yeah, that means we were driving a flaming Warthog for about 2-3 minutes. When we got off we got under the cover of a foxhole.
"Its been nice fighting with you guys. Did you hear the commander's orders?" the driver asked.
"No. Our radios got cut off a while ago." I replied.
"He told us that Reach has officially fallen. Our job now it to wait for the Spartans to deliver 'the package' and get the Pillar of Autumn out of here."
We knew it was coming, but it was still a horrible shock. We didn't think that the commander would admit a loss, not a loss of an entire planet. We saw NOBLE 6 come over the horizon. Alone with a small blue glowing tube, which was probably the package. 5 Spartans from NOBLE team were dead.
It was time to escape.
