Loki POV
This was working out well.
"So how's the hunt going?" I asked Amora, standing in her study as she worked on one of her potions. "Find all the ingredients?"
"Of course. I know where to find what I need. How's the keeper doing?" She asked, her eyes on her bubbling water.
"She's healing."
"That kiss last night was a nice touch." She chuckled, finally cutting her eyes at me. "She's falling head over heels for you already."
"You know that's not my intention," I muttered in irritation, crossing my arms along my chest. "I don't want her affection, I just need her to survive."
"Mm, same thing. As long as she goes back to Asgard, what does it matter?" Amora was already losing interest in her teasing. "I just want Thor, and she's my way in. This is quite the clever idea, Loki."
"I'm aware."
"I'm just hope it works." She sighed, leaning over the vials of red and gold liquids before her. She lifted a dropper, taking a small sample from each before moving towards the large pot she had in her fireplace. She kicked an errant animal skull out of her way, grumbling about housekeeping beneath her breath.
I watched as she let the mixed liquids drop into the large cauldron, looking pleased when it poofed a nice violet smog. She leaned up, stirring the bubbling concoction.
"What exactly is that supposed to do again?"
"It will make Thor desire me, of course. Or that's the intention, anyhow." She frowned. "I've never had to make a potion like this before."
"You could just wait until the human is dead," I said, echoing what Dreyna had commented earlier. "Their lifetimes aren't long, and her beauty will fade in a few more years."
"But then I have to deal with Sif again, we all know how she lusts after him still."
"Why not get rid of her then?"
"Because that's a lot more effort then I'm willing to give." Amora pouted. "He's fancied her for so long, I'm surprised his affection was taken by a human. She must be remarkable."
"I find her rather plain, really."
"Most would say the same about your keeper."
"Why do you keep calling her that? She has a name."
"Yes, but it's an awful name. Dreyna? It sounds like drainpipe."
I rolled my eyes.
Like she could talk.
"And do you really think leaving her unsupervised is a good idea? I don't want her wandering around my home going through my things!"
"Nothing you have here would be of any interest to her," I shook my head; I'd forgotten how spoiled and childlike Amora could act when she didn't get her way. "Now how do you expect to get Thor to drink this potion, if it even works?"
"I'd don't know yet. I was going to figure that part out later."
"You're so wonderful at planning, Amora."
"Im not the one whose plans always fall through, oh mighty ruler of Midgard," she snorted derisively.
I gritted my teeth at the jab.
If it hadn't been for those damned humans, I'd have taken Midgard Easily!
I still wanted my staff back.
