[A/N] Hi everyone! This is my first Vkook/Taekook fanfic! I've read many Vkook fanfiction, and other fanfiction as well, and I love how people that feel the same thing about something as you do can create such a beautiful story with things you love. I want people to feel the same way as I feel when I read other people's fanfiction, so I'll try my best to make this story as good as I can! I'll update regurarly so you can have as much fun reading it, as I had writing it! Please note that I'm not a native English speaker, so if you find any typos, mistakes or just weird sentence structures, please do tell me, I'd really appreciate it! I always proofread it multiple times before I post anything, but some mistakes my slip in. So without further ado, here's the first chapter. I hope you enjoy it! (^-^)

'Jungkook, can you please bother to at least try to pay attention?'

I was woken by the voice of Mr Lyang booming through the classroom. Did I fall asleep again? Not that that's a surprise; it has happened almost every day for the last couple of weeks. I know I shouldn't watch youtube and netflix until 2 am every night, but how can people not? I mean: you can literally talk to and see the whole world on your screen: escape to other worlds when you've had enough of all the trash on this planet. But at the same time, sleeping five / six hours a day isn't that much...

'I'm sorry, sir.' I mumble and I pick up a pen just so it looks like I pay attention and take notes.

The remaining ten minutes of English class, I rest my head on my hand, whilst I keep my head down like I'm reading and use my hands as 'shields' just so I can close my eyes without anyone noticing.

The bell brings me back to reality and I take my backpack, ready to leave the classroom.

'Jungkook, can I talk to you for a moment?' Mr Lyang says just as I'm about to step through the door. My immediate thought is to say 'no' and just walk away with sunglasses on and an explosion happening behind me, the words 'boss defeated' on screen. But since I still got some morals, I reply with 'sure' and walk over to his desk.

'I know I should've stayed awake, I'm sorry sir, It won't happen again.' I tell him with my head down, knowing that that's what he wants to hear.

'I'm glad to hear that, Jungkook, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about.' I look up with confusion. That's not it? What have I done wrong this time?

'I saw that your grades are dropping quickly, and I want you to pass this year just as much as you do. The third year of high school is always difficult, but I know you've got it in you to pass.' I just nod at his words, not knowing how I should respond in this situation. 'So I decided to get you a tutor,' he finishes his speech.

'Wait what?' The words leave my mouth before I can realise it. After a second of confusion I gain my ability to speak again. 'I'm sure that's not necessary sir, I can handle it myself. I've just been very busy with family stuff recently, but my grades will go up again in no time, I'm sure!' I try using the 'family business' excuse, since most of the time they won't ask you any further about that. I don't need a tutor! I don't like talking to other people one on one if I don't know them that well, and a tutor is exactly that. And it will probably be that kind of person who is annoyed at you if you don't get it even though you're trying your best, and I don't want to waste my free time on that.

'I'm sure you've had a very busy  time, but that's even more of a reason to indeed get you a tutor. You can catch up with the rest of the class and everything can be explained to you personally. If your grades go up again you can drop the tutor, but until I see a reason to stop your tutoring lessons, you'll have to stick with them.'

I sigh heavily and try to mutter some excuses, but Mr Lyang has such a firm look on his face that I have to give in. 'Okay sir, thank you for your concerns. I'll do my best.'

'That's what I wanted to hear!' He responds with a smile. 'It's a boy who's in his senior year in Busan Private School. He's my cousin and great in English. He will help you. You can go to his house every Tuesday and Friday at 8pm. This is his address.' He hands me a small piece of paper with an address written on it. I recognize the street, which is not that far away from my house, probably just half an hour away.

'Good luck!' Mr Lyang says, and tells me that I can go. I try to sound thankful for his concerns but I'm 99% sure he can hear my annoyance on the situation. I know he wants what's best for me, and I'm indeed grateful that he cares enough about me to get me a tutor. But that doens't mean that I'm any less annoyed by the fact that I need a one. Why can't I just understand stuff as quickly as the other students?

------------------------------------------

I sit down at a table at the back of the cafeteria. It's behind a corner where the light isn't working properly and is flickering all the time, so usually students won't go there. Except me. I like the quiet here, since the cafeteria sounds are muted by the wall and distance.

Like most breaks, I'm on my phone. When I'm not on my phone, I read. That's basically how I spend my lunch every single day. I could sit with other people, but every time I sit with them, I can only think that they don't really want me to be there. I would call them my friends, but I don't know if they feel the same way about me. Sure, when I talk to them they will have a friendly conversation with me, but I'm never sure if I add anything to their lives.

That's why I just sit here, on my own, where no one will bother me and I won't be a bother to anyone else.

A tutor... This will be fun. A take another bite of my sandwich and Google the school Mr Lyang told me the boy was going to. He never said the boy's name, so I can't look him up on Facebook or Instagram to see how he looked or if he was some sort of serial killer, but the school could give me an indication of what the students are like in general.

The first thing that pops up is a fancy school site, with pictures of this huge building, students looking happy and busy studying. After one minute on this site I'm already convinced that all students who go there are twenty times richer than I am and probably have a huge ego to match it.

I sigh. This person will be so annoyed with me. It's not that I don't want to study. It's just that I don't get it most of the time, which is so frustrating that it's just easier to go onto the internet and forget about the real world. But this guy definitely won't understand that, since he probably gets the highest grades of the country and his rich parents to help him with whatever he wants if he's ever struggling with anything. He'll definitely think I'm lazy.

The bell rings, so I pack my backpack and go to my next class. I'll see what he's like tonight.
