Are you there? Can you see me?
You see, I feel lost and confused
Looking at the mirror I see a grown man whose heart is broken
I need you now, my guide and light
It might've been just you and me
But we were never alone
We held on to what we had
I held on to what you gave to me
See, you were my hero
you created me and raised me
You showed me the hidden plant in a barren land
Because who else would show me?
My dead beat of a dad who I hate for leaving us?
Ran away and found another
Well fuck you daddy, we don't need you
My mom, you were my hero
You were my provider and I am your son, your fighter
But now you're gone and its just me
Please don't think I'm alone mom
I'm not
I got you in my soul
I got a family in my mind
I got a love in my heart
Losing you was losing me too
But you never left, I carry you with me everywhere I go
I wish I could see that tired smile from work again
That laugh, whenever we cooked again
Your angelic presence is not in absence
Tell me mom, am I doing good?
