With summer break finally coming around, I couldn't have been happier to get away from school.
Of course, the break also meant more time spent with Jeff so that was a bonus being it wouldn't be long before he'd graduate and would be off to college.
We were taking full advantage of the time we had together.
With mom and dad constantly arguing about the pharmacy and Hannah working all the time since Clay was away, Jeff and our time together was basically my escape.
So when summer break ended, I was not happy.
Jeff and I decided to take full advantage of Jessica's back to school party though.
We wanted to make the most of the night, planning everything in advanced, wanting everything to be perfect.
Hearing Hannah mention the party the night of, I immediately walked out of the room already dressed for it, wanting to hear what was going on.
"Oh right, the party. Your sister told us about that."
"Glad you remembered," I announced as I walked into the kitchen, "Because I am just about ready to- what the fuck did you do to your hair?"
"Anna!" mom and dad called out wide-eyed, making me shrug.
"Sorry, she took me by surprise!"
Hannah twirled a piece of her hair nervously, "Do you like it?"
"Well duh. But does this mean I have to cut my hair too?"
"No." Hannah quickly answered, "This doesn't have to be a twin thing."
"Then what was it?"
"This is my... my fresh new start."
"Alright well, I'm liking this fresh new start," I smiled, reaching over to comb my hand through her short hair, "It may take some time to get used to but... it's a great look on you, Hannah Montana."
"Thanks, Anna Banana," Hannah smiled.
Taking my hand out of her hair, I crossed my arms, "Of course but- what was this about the party? You want a ride? Jeff's outside."
