PAST

Walking into Liberty High for the first time wasn't as nerve wrecking for me as it was for Hannah.

I never had trouble before fitting in- or at least finding the right crowd to fit into unlike my lovely sister Hannah.

She was a nervous wreck this morning and dreaded waking up while I was already up and ready to go by the time mom knocked on my door to wake me up. It wasn't that I was excited for school- I was just ready to get it over with... unlike Hannah.

"Seeing as you're the reason we're almost late to our first day of school-"

"It's not my fault I'm a normal person who doesn't like waking up early unlike you, weirdo."

"Whatever. I do wanna go find my locker though before I make myself even more late to my first class. You'll be okay on your own?"

Hannah frowned, "What? But we always spend the first day together."

"Yes but Hannah, I don't want to be late for class and we don't have the same locker or even same schedule for that matter."

"Yeah, I'm sure that's it," Hannah smirked as she came to a stop in front of her own locker.

"Excuse me?"

"Anna, you've been looking around everywhere the second we stepped in here. Obviously you're looking for that guy from the party."

"I am not!" I quickly defended, feeling uncomfortable with the look she was giving me, "And besides... his name is Jeff."

With that I quickly walked off, only hearing Hannah's laughter from behind me as I started scanning the numbers on the lockers.

Unfortunately, looking for my locker meant I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, which got me crashing into someone before I catch myself.

"Holy shit! I am so-"

I stopped short when said perpetrator just continued on with his day, as if I wasn't there and he could care less that my books were now on the ground.

"Hey asshole! Say sorry to the lady!"

The guy barely turned to brush whoever was now standing next to me off before continuing to walk away.

I scoffed, now going to pick my things up myself, "And the older generation wonders why us millennials don't stay in committed relationships when there are douchebags like him that exist."
