Chapter 12-"Take it."

"Erin, please tell me you guys have a lead!" Kim said as Erin walked in.

"He was undercover and he was made by one of our suspects. We know he has him, but we can't just run in and get him because they'll kill him and us. We're going to get him back."

"You better hurry."

"How come?"

"My water just broke."

"What?! Uh, okay, don't panic. We're going to call for an ambulance and you'll get to Med, I'll get Trudy to stay with you, and we'll get Adam back." Erin assured her, dialing 911.

"I've been in labor for 13 hours now, I could really use some good news." Kim told Erin and Jay as they walked into her hospital room.

"Well, first off, Happy Halloween. It's 1:20 am, so, okay, not the time." Jay said as he received irritated looks from Trudy, Kim and Erin. "We're getting him out in a few hours."

"A few hours?" Kim asked.

"We have to wait for the perfect time for a raid." Erin told her.

"Now seems like a good time!" Kim snapped in irritation as another contraction came.

"We'll get him here as soon as we can. Hang in there."

"Chicago P.D., drop your weapon!" Hank yelled as he, Al, and Erin barged into the room where Adam was being kept.

"Well, well, well. They've arrived." Adam's kidnapper said, holding a gun to Adam's head.

Jay spoke into his radio, "I have the shot." He was on the roof of a building adjacent to the place Adam was being held in and was ready to take out the guy with one pull of a trigger.

Jay's voice rang into Hank's earpiece. "Take it." Was all Hank said before the man with the gun to Adam's head was on the ground, dead with a bullet in his brain.

"Adam!" Erin said, rushing to him and untying him from the chair he was in. "Kim's in labor, we gotta go!"

"What? Is she okay?" Adam panicked as soon as the tape was off of his mouth.

"Yes, Trudy is with her. You okay? Can you walk?"

"I'm fine, let's go!"
