Chapter 18-"I Love you Boys More Than Anything in the World"

The boys are 2.
November 3rd

"Momma, no leave!" Lincoln told Kim as she packed her suitcase.

"Linc, your daddy can do anything, and that includes taking care of you 4 boys all by himself. And besides, I have to go help Zoe and Aunt Nicole out a little bit, but I'll be back in 10 days!" Kim told him, zipping her suitcase and putting on her shoes.

"No leave!" Ben told her.

"Benny, you'll be fine and you guys are going to have so much fun with daddy! He told me he might even take you boys out with Uncle Jay and go to a Bulls game! You like basketball, don't you?"

"I like you more." Ben told her, making Kim smile.

"I love you boys more than anything in the world. But, I am still leaving right now. Come on, you boys are coming with Dad to drop me off at the airport."

"Daddy, we go to Chick-fil-A? I hungry!" Russell pleaded as Adam drove away from the airport after dropping off Kim.

"Okay, we'll go to Chick-fil-A, but afterwards, we have to go to daddy's work real quick." Adam said.

"Unc Jay be there?" Andrew asked.

"He should be. If not, we'll go find him."

After ordering the boys and himself food, Adam let them go play in the indoor playground.

Soon, he heard crying so he looked towards the play area and saw Russell crying, holding his knee. As soon as Adam was getting up to go see what happened, Ben was coming to get him.

"What happened to Russell?" Adam asked as he and Ben went inside the play area.

"He was climbing up slide and Andy came down slide. He hurt" Ben reported as they approached Russell.

Adam knelt in front of Russell.

"Russ, what happened?"

"Andy slid... and knocked down..." Russell said between sobs.

Adam picked up Russell and set him in his lap, holding him close. "Hey, you know what? I think you were doing something you weren't supposed to and Andy didn't know you were climbing up when he was going down. Hey, look at me Russell."

Russell sniffed and looked at his dad.

"You wanna go eat some lunch and let me clean up your knee?"

Russell nodded.

"Alright, let's go."

Adam corralled the other boys and carried Russell to the table and their food was delivered immediately after.

As the boys ate, Adam looked in the backpack that he and Kim always took with them that had a first aid kit and some emergency toys and clothes for the kids.

He cleaned up Russell's knee and put on a Finding Dory bandaid, making the kid happy.

"We go see Unc Jay and Aunt 'Rin now?" Lincoln asked.

"And Unc Kev and Unc Al and Unc Hank and Aunt Trudy?" Ben added.

"Yep, let's go."
