1 Year and a Half Later
Age: 12
With a hand propped on my cheek, I was silently waiting for Iruka Sensei to come back from retrieving Naruto.
The empty seat next to me is where he belonged and as I looked out at a nearby window, I could see bright colors coating some buildings and the Hokage Stone Faces.
Only Naruto would pull suck a stunt.
Minutes had gone by and Iruka Sensei barged in with a tied up Naruto which caused Shikamaru who was sitting behind me to wake up from his slumber.
"Awake now sleeping beauty?" I snickered and he scowled at me before placing his head back down on the table.
"I'm at the end of my rope Naruto! You failed the graduation exam twice and tomorrow you have another chance, but you're messing up again. Since you missed today's lesson, everyone is going to review the transformation jutsu."
The class groaned in agony and glared at Naruto for having them redo the transformation jutsu. My classmates and I formed a line at the front and I watched as my classmates transformed into our Sensei although there was a certain pink haired girl, Sakura, who got excited for accomplishing the transformation jutsu.
"Sasuke, did you see that!" She exclaimed.
Sasuke only ignored her and walked up for it was his turn. He transformed with ease and got back in line and he happened to be right in front of me. He didn't glance at me and I didn't bother to look his way.
"(Y/n) (L/n)." I silently walked up and transformed with ease and once I saw a nod of approval come from Iruka Sensei, I undid the jutsu and headed back with the others.
"Next up, Naruto Uzumaki." I turned towards Naruto and gave him a thumbs up as a way to support him. He confidently walked up to the front and placed his hands together.
"Transform!" Instead of transforming into Iruka Sensei, I saw a female version of him with two pigtails who was bare skinned except for two certain parts which were covered with clouds. I silently sighed and nodded in disapproval for his action while Iruka Sensei scolded Naruto.

I watched as Naruto was cleaning the Hokage Stone Faces and after all we've been through, I couldn't bear to not help him. I decided to help him and I jumped up to where he was at and landed right next to him.
"(Y/n) you don't need to help. This is Naruto's punishment not yours," called out Iruka Sensei as I began to wipe away some of the graffiti.
"It's okay. I don't mind," I gazed over at Naruto who had his eyes on me already. A smile was adorned on his face and I grinned at him as we began to work together.
"You're not going home until you clean every single drop of paint."
"So what, it's not like there's anyone waiting at home for me," retorted Naruto.
I mean he's not wrong and the same went for me. We both felt a longing for our parents, but it was something we couldn't have.
Naruto's comment stirred something inside of Iruka and he offered to treat us to ramen which sure did the trick to motivate Naruto in getting the job done quicker.

While we were eating our ramen, Iruka Sensei questioned Naruto as to why he would paint the Hokage Stone Faces.
"Because I'm going to be greater than any of them, me Naruto Uzumaki, the next Hokage, a ninja legend! Then everyone will have to stop disrespecting me and look up to me, believe it!"
"And I'll be right beside you to support you every step of the way," I said with a smile.
Naruto gently grabbed ahold of my hand and gave it a light squeeze, "Thank you (Y/n)."
As Naruto continued talking to Iruka Sensei asking if he could try on his headband, I tuned them out and began to start thinking about my own dreams in life and my future as a shinobi.
Well there was one thing I was certain of that I hoped to achieve.
And that was finding them.
Those who started the beginning of my tragedy.

We were all waiting to be called into a room to perform the Clone Jutsu which was the final test that determined whether we'd become ninjas.
I felt bad for Naruto once he heard what the test was based on since the Clone Jutsu wasn't his strong suit. Even though he wasn't the best at it, I still had hope he could succeed.
"(Y/n) you're next," I heard Kiba say and I nodded my head at him before I headed inside the room.
"Alright (Y/n), you just need to perform three clones," said Iruka Sensei who was seated next to a white haired man at a table.
I nodded my head and performed a hand sign. I created three clones which appeared right behind me.
"Excellent! You may get your headband."
I retrieved my headband and tied it around my (b/p) while heading out the room. Of course I was going to pass, I'm a (L/n).
"Way to go (Y/n)!" Cheered on Naruto although I could clearly see he was nervous.
"I'm not sure if I'll be able to pass this time though."
I placed my hands on his shoulders and gazed into his eyes. "You're someone who doesn't give up so live by that! I believe in you Naruto. You'll do fine. The future Hokage can't back down now."
"You're right!" He grinned and strode towards the room with a ray of confidence.
"Do you really think that loser can pass?" Mumbled Sasuke.
"Now you decide to talk," I harshly said and he nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders at me.
'The nerve of this guy. And I spent most of my childhood with him.'
The door opened and I saw Naruto walk out with a saddened expression on his face.
"I didn't pass (Y/n). I'm sorry," was all I heard from him until I saw him run out of the classroom.
"Wait, Naruto!" I ran after him and once I reached the entrance to the academy, I saw him sitting on the swing with his head hung low.
There were parents standing outside with their children who had just become ninja, although some of them took notice of a certain blonde haired boy and began to look at him as if he were a roach.
"He's a burden to the village."
"Who would allow a demon to be a ninja?"
"He's a monster."
I tightly balled my hand into a fist as I heard their comments and I yelled out," He's not a monster!"
People took notice of my arrival and they began to make some remarks about me, but they started to scatter away. I watched as they began to leave, but as I looked ahead of me, I saw an empty swing.
He fled and it was clear that he wanted to be left alone for the time being.
So, I gave him what he needed.
