"Oh buggar..." Shelbie sighed she looked at the two rabbits that she had found in her hollow. Thomas sat patiently beside her, after some "tisks" and "no's" from his owner at sniffing at the peaceful creatures. Biting her lip, she looked down at her cat. "What do we do?" She asks.

"I don't want to scare them off..." She adds to him, but the tabby simply blinked at her and trilled. Working her mouth from side to side, she got an "aha!" moment and reached for her wand. Talking a deep breath, she waved it and said, "Winguardium Leviosa." . And just like that, the two rabbits started to slowly levitate in the air, to their surprise, and move slowly out of the hollows entrance. Thomas' ears perked up in interest and his pupils turned into dinner plates as he mewed.

"Hush Tommy." Shelbie said, making sure not to lose concentration and drop the rabbits. Once they were a distance away, she slowly let them onto the ground gently and released the spell. The rabbits seemed a bit surprised at the ordeal, but after they had nuzzled each other as if they were checking if the other was okay, and they bounded off.

Shelbie let out a puff of air in relief. "Phew!" She looked down at her cat. "That was good--Right?" Thomas simply blinked. Shelbie nodded.

"Yeah, that was pretty good." She said to herself as she sat up on her knees and looked back at her hollow. "But I really need to work on that cloaking spell. Fast."

Shelbie had probably stayed there until midnight, practicing and practicing again with the cloaking spell that she had worked on and she had fallen asleep, Thomas curled up next to her. When she heard the birds chirping above her, she had realized that she had slept outside through the night.

"Drat!" Getting up in a frantic and grabbing Thomas in her arms, she shouldered her satchel and started running out of the forest towards the castle. "Drat drat drat drat drat!" She murmured under her breath as she entered inside through her secret passage and dove right into her room to start changing. But she couldn't help going in with a bit of a bang, rousing one of her dorm mates.

She froze in her place.

"MMmpf..." She looked over to see a form move under her covers and sit up, her messy brown hair concealing half of her face. "Shelbie?" The girl asked. Shelbie blinked.

"Y-yeah?"

"What are you doing its 4 am..."

"What?"

"Its 4 am. What are you doing banging around in the room?" Shelbie bit her lip and felt her face flush in embarrassment.

"I uh... Thought I was late." The brunette girl sighed and shook her head.

"Oh Shelbie... Go back to bed. I know I am." She she fell back into her pillows.

"Sorry!" The girl waved her off and mumbled a few things that she couldn't hear. Shelbie puffed out a breath of air quietly, putting a hand to her heart as she looked down at Thomas tucked into her arms, who seemed just about shaken as she was.

Tip-toeing towards her bed, she lay Thomas down onto her pillow before she tucked herself in as well.

She instantly fell asleep again.

Candice was skipping along humming an unrecognizable tune as Olivia, Lily, and Shelbie followed behind her, watching the Ravenclaw in her merry mood. Lily leans over to Shelbie,

"What got her in such a good mood." Shelbie shrugs.

"Were there any papers turned in recently?"

"Nope."

"Any tests brought up?"

"Don't think so."

"Assignments?"

"Nuh-uh."

Shelbie sighs. "Well, then I'm at a complete loss because theres nothing else that could explain her good mood."

Candice turned around and gave the girls a wise look. "I can hear you, you know."

"Well, then you can answer our question." Lily pipes up. Candice grinned.

"I just heard something that I think our little Olive would be very happy about." When Olivia heard her name, she looked up from the book that she was reading.

"Huh? What--Me?" Candice giggled.

"Yes you! You will not guess what I just found out about--" She looked around to make sure no one was hearing. "You know..." She wiggled her eyebrows up and down with a suggestive look.

Olivia furrowed her brows. "What do you mean?" Lily and Shelbie looked just as confused as Olivia was. Candice made a 'come on guys!' gesture.

"Must I spell his name out for you?" Then Olivia's eyes widened.

"Wait a minuet--What did you--"

"Shhh! C'mere!" Olivia leaned forward and Candice leaned in as well to whisper in her ear. Lily and Shelbie shared a look and then jumped when Olivia did a high pitched gasp.

"No way!" Candice nodded enthusiastically.

"Yes way!"

"Ehem!" Lily cleared her throat, grabbing the attention of the two excited girls. Candice had an 'Oh!' expression on her face before she talked.

"Oh! Right right sorry--C'mere." Shelbie and Lily leaned forwards and wait for Candice to tell them what she had told Olivia.

"Max likes Olivia." Lily and Shelbie gasp.

"What!"

"No way! Olive!" They both showed their excitement for the lovestruck girl, who was blushing madly and couldn't help but not stop the smile that was curling up on her face. They all went around in a circle together and giggled excitedly. Olivia could not have been happier.

The holidays had come quicker than Shelbie had realized, and she soon found herself with Natalie, getting ready with her for the trip back to their homes. Natalie looked over to her as she asked,

"You excited to go back home for the holidays?" Shelbie chuckled.

"I'm glad to be returning home for the holidays. I mean, I love Hogwarts, but I'll be happy to return home and see my family." Natalie seemed to deflate a bit.

"Wish I could say the same." Natalie mumbled. Shelbie furrowed her brows.

"What do you mean?" Natalie looked up and perked up at her finished knitted project.

"Oh you finished knitting your scarf? It looks beautiful Shelb! You should teach me." Shalbie chuckled.

"Natalie, as much as I appreciate the compliment do not try to change the subject!" She says. Natalie sighed.

"It's just, my family. They're all successful Ravenclaws who always did good in school. I'm basically the complete opposite. Let's not think about that though, would you like to find the twins with me?" Shelbie felt honoured with the request, but she remembered that she made a promise to join someone else.

"I'd love to, but I promised I'd sit with my friend Olivia. I'll see you later?" She asks as she gathers up her things. Natalie nods.

"See ya'."

As she left, she couldn't help but feel that she completely understood how Natalie felt.
