Alas, this is the end of the Kaylo or Kyaida (or whichever name you gave them) ship. It was bittersweet cause I was really banking on a good redemption tale.

As you can see that didn't happen. Poor Kaida. I had had so much hope for her to redeem him.

I wanted to do a Kylo Ren fic like how my other fanfics are, which were longer pages and longer chapters. But I kept coming back to the idea of: well, maybe I don't need to tell the tale in such a long amount of time. Why not shorten it?

I think this came out much better as a shorter book. It fit better as a 3rd POV as well. Originally Kaida was going to be our narrator for this story.

I'm sure some of you have beef with me on the ship. 'Why didn't you let it live, Prim, damn you!'

Well, avid shipper, I made this fic the way it is cause of these reasons:

1) I wanted a different spin on Kylo Ren. Many paint him as redeemable, a little too much for me. I wanted to show a more...Dark Side Kylo/Ben if that makes any sense to you. I wanted to show him as a little spec of light of redemption, but it's overshadowed by the Dark he's consumed by.

2) I wanted it to focus on the ship's origin, not so much the romance, but their actual partnership. Yes, the romance happened as a result, but I wanted to show how Kaida felt seeing her former lover behind the mask. (P.S. Her calling him Ben kept shattering my heart. Damn it, Kylo, why couldn't you just allow me to make you more redeemable?)

3) I knew plain and simple that this ship was not going to last with the way I was going to have Kylo act in my story. (He seemed so much nicer in those flashbacks.)

If you guys want the ship to live on, then let it through fanart! The more I gather, the more I shall compile a part for ship appreciation. Credit will be properly given as well :)
