Say 'no' to domestic abuse and violence. One of my earliest poems with rhyming words.
A long, thick wooden cane,
the reason for her spasms of pain.
Neither a complain nor a restrain
would she do in vain,
For she knew that he would repeat.
Showing no signs of defeat.
Sometimes he would use his cigar,
to burn her with a beastly vigour.
Oh, how she wished he would change!
Freeing her from the dreadful cage.
How she wished for more strength!
That would make her go any length.
And the best happened one day,
when she decided to make hay.
While the sun shined brightly,
she stood up to him mightly.
Fought him with a renewed vigour,
burned him with the same cigar.
With an hour of stone pelt,
showed him how violence felt.
And the long, thick wooden cane,
gradually made him insane.
