it was the
moment,
our eyes shone
against each
other so
wildly, each
pair bearing
its own kind
of fire, like
two pieces
of diamond
in a chaos of
charcoal,
when I finally
realized that
I was falling
so hard.
but it was
only when our
chapped lips
met, and
my breath
mingled with
yours, did I
know that in
fact you
weren't the
lighthouse but
the raging
storm I've been
running away
from.
it was too
late, for
your dusty
lies already
settled on
my wings,
and now they
are weighing
me down,
waiting for me
to crash into
the hard
ground, until
nothing remains
but smashed
ribs and
broken
bones .
I mistook
your love,
for a beautiful
ocean that
never stopped
hugging the
shore, despite
how mercilessly
it was pulled
away, oh
little did I know
that it was
nothing but
gasoline that
burned
everything,
while you stood
watching.
