43."The fight"

Kate's POV

"L-Lucas... look I can explain" I stared at him shocked.

"No. Save it Kate" he said, his eyes watering and shaking his head.

I looked back at Marcus. He was frozen.

I turned around and looked Lucas in the eye...

He was hurt and it was all my fault.

As human beings, sometimes we make some really stupid mistakes, that we regret and after some time we think that, because it happened in the past it doesn't matter and that what's in the past stays in the past. But, deep inside we all know that that's just a lie that we keep on saying to ourselves in order to get rid of awful emotions, like being guilty...

"This whole time... the whole entire time you were pretending that everything was ok?" He said, lowering his voice in a threatening tone.

"Like, did you really think that it was ok to hide something like this for me?" He was looking at me and suddenly he turned to Marcus, clenching his fists.

"Why...huh?Why Marcus!?" He was raising his voice and he was looking so mad.

Both me and Marcus were speechless...

"You!" He said, pointing at Marcus, "you knew this the whole entire time and didn't tell me?!How could you lie to me!?" He was so furious, he felt betrayed..

"Your my freakin brother!" He screamed, tears running from his eyes.

He started walking slowly to Marcus, breathing heavily and balling his fists.

This wasn't good..

Before he could make an other step I jumped right in front of him and pushed him back, placing my hands on his chest.

"Lucas no" I said.

"Let go Kate, I don't wanna hurt you..." he threatened me, still glaring at Marcus and clenching his teeth.

"Yeah Kate let go, I can handle this" Marcus said to me.

I obeyed and moved aside.

"I thought we never hide anything from each other" Lucas said, walking slowly to Marcus.

"I know bro and I'm really sorry, truly I am. It wasn't my or Kate's fault, we were both drunk" Marcus explained.

"Oh really? So, is this supposed to make me feel better?" Lucas screamed back.

"She was missing you and I...I..." Marcus tried to explain.

"Exactly Marcus. That's you're excuse. I was gone for ONE WEEKEND and I warned you at the airport, I warned you NOT to do anything stupid while I was gone, but apparently you are SO DOWN FOR MY GIRL" Lucas was screaming to Marcus' face and stabbing his finger at Marcus' chest. There was nothing that I could do to stop them.

I was just standing there, cowardly, covering my mouth with both of my hands.

"Well, Yeah!! I REALLY LIKE HER!" Marcus screamed back to Lucas, pushing him back.

"That's it Marcus you've crossed the line" Lucas said and before I even realize it he punched Marcus in the face.

Then Marcus grabbed him by his shirt and they both fell down to the floor, punching and beating each other.

"No! Stop!" I screamed rushing to them and trying to separate them, but I couldn't. I wasn't strong enough.

Suddenly Kade and Jake rushed in the room "what the heck is going on?" Kade asked and he and Jake hurried to the twins who were still fighting.
