"C'mon" Marcus offered me his hand and helped me get out of the car.
At the moment our hands met, I felt my heart racing like crazy, although it was not the first time to hold his hand, this time it felt different.
We walked to the high cliff and sat on the bench. The view was breathtaking, the whole L.A. could be seen from up there.
I turned my head to the side and observed his beautiful characteristics. Was he always so handsome?
He was admiring the view. Was his lips always so desirable?
I smiled to myself and held his hand. He immidiately looked down to our hands and then eyed me.
No one was talking. There was no need for words to express our feelings.
Our eyes communicated perfectly. We could both understand that our feelings were equal.
I slowly laid my head on his shoulder.
"How do you feel?" Marcus asked me in a deep, low voice.
I simply smiled wider "Sure.Happy. Glad. Free"
I was finally sure about my feelings. For some reason, all this time I was only focusing on Lucas and the idea of Marcus as something more than just a best friend was blocked by my mind. I always ignored his confessions about his love for me as if they were something meaningless. I was so selfish. But I was also afraid.
Afraid to accept the reality. Since Lucas was my first relationship and my first kiss and my first love I stubbornly believed that he had to be the one. Being still new at these stuff, I couldn't see that we... We didn't really match.
But Marcus. Marcus never left my side and he never refused his love for me. I was blind and couldn't face the true story of my and Lucas's romance. I'm not saying that nothing ever happened between us. No, definitely not.
Lucas taught me how to love, Marcus taught me the power of love.
I lifted my head and our eyes met "You? How do you feel?"
Marcus's POV
Her sweet voice sounded like music to my ears.
"I feel... special" I whispered and she straightened up.
She tilted her head in confusion "special?"
I nodded "You see, having a twin makes life complicated. Especially when you and your twin like the same girl" I held both of her hands and stared deep into her huge eyes.
"People always compare me and Lucas. Most of the time, Lucas wins. He's the sociable, friendly, funny twin. Most people feel more comfortable around rather than me. I'm shy and closed to myself" I lift one of my hands to brush a wisp of hair away from her eyes. We were both soaked because of the earlier heavy rain.
"I never really minded about it. Until, the girl that I loved also choosed him"
Kate's expression darkened "I'm not saying that to make you feel sorry. I just want you to know everything about me"
I sighed and looked in front "Thank you Kate"
Kate's POV
I couldn't look away from him. One moment I was feeling strong and happy and now my heart was filed with feelings of regret and guilt.
I let go of his hand and he looked at me confused "What's wrong?"
I stared at him. I hestitated.
