Normani's POV
"Mickey Mickey" I sing
I walk into his office with a smile and he waves his phone.
"I got good news Mani" He says
"Spill" I say
"I got you and Lauren a spot on the People's Choice Awards!" He exclaims
"Mickey are you fucking for real!" I yell
"Hell yea I'm fucking for real! Now here's what's gonna happen, you're gonna do two minutes of the song you guys recently recorded then go into 'Down'" He says
"Oh ok, that's perfect, does Lauren know?" I ask
"Yup, I told her a few minutes before you walked in" He says
"Alright thanks Mickey" I smile

"WE'RE GONNA BE ON THE PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS LAUREN OH MY FUCKING GOSH!" I yell
"ITS GONNA BE EPIC MY GUY!!" She yells
I stop and put her down.
"What?" She asks
"My guy?!" I laugh
"New York slang tryna catch me" She shrugs
"Welcome to my world" I say while plucking her lip
She gasps and grabs onto her lip as her eyes widen and glare at me.
"WHY?!" She yells
I move her hand and place my lips on top of hers, softly kissing where I plucked her.
"Stop plucking me, shit" She pouts
"It's fun baby, here pluck me if you want" I say
She doesn't hesitate to pluck my jawline and I jump at the feeling.
"That's a sensitive areaaa" I whine
"Oh and my lips aren't?" She chuckles
She kisses my jaw then walks off.
"We're going on a date tonight!" She yells out before disappearing
Lauren and I have been dating for 6 months and we have yet to be public about our relationship, simply because we don't want that type of attention on something so special yet. But it's undeniably the best time of our lives.
Time passes and I'm in the bathroom, finishing getting ready.
"Mani hurry up!" She calls out
"Perfection takes time!" I yell back
"Yet I'm here and ready!" She says
I check over my appearance one more time then make my way to where she is.
"Oooh damn" She says when she sees me
"Worth it huh?" I smirk
"Definitely" She mumbles, clearly distracted by how amazing I look
