*A week later*
Lauren's POV
I watch Normani as she sleeps peacefully, tracing over the details of her face careful not to wake her. I trace the outline of her eyebrows, I move down to her eyelids and ghost over them. I pass more places and get down to her lips, I go over the outline of them before using my thumb to rub her bottom lip. I lean in and press mine against hers, I move my lips to other places and she starts waking up.
"Hey sleeping beauty" I smile
"Hey" She chuckles
"How long have you been watching me sleep you stalker?" She asks
"Very funny! Maybe about thirty minutes" I say
"All I felt were fingers probing me you witch" She laughs
"I would never!" I fake gasp
"Oh shit! We should probably tell our parents about the engagement" She says
"It's been a week and you didn't say anything!?" I laugh
"You could've told them too!" She says
"You're making the call" I say
"We're both making the call, stop being a pussy" I say
"You are what you eat" She shrugs
"You-never mind" I say
She grabs her phone and FaceTime's Mama Drea.
"Well look who decides to call, hello girls"
"Hey ma" Mani smiles
"Hey Andrea" I wave
"I can tell y'all called to say something so spill"
"Eager MUCH?" Mani asks
"Get my guy D-Ham" I say
"You say that out loud?" Mani asks
"Shut up hater" I joke
Derrick pops up on the screen and I smile widely.
"Ok ready?" I ask
"Chile speak already" Andrea says
"I was gonna say it now but I'll wait longer" Mani days
"And I will hang up this phone, your call" Derrick says
"Oop" I mumble
"Anyway!" Mani says
She grabs my hand and waves it in front of the camera.
"We're engaged!!" I smile
"OH?! OOHH?!! THAT'S AMAZING!" Derrick grins
"OH MY BABIES! YOU TWO ARE COMING DOWN HERE ON YOUR NEXT OFF DAY!" Andrea says
"Yes mom"
We talk to them for a few more minutes then hang up, talking about some of the wedding.
"So I thought of this the other day, a winter wedding in Cuba" She says
"That sounds great actually" I say
"Choose a month" She says
"December?" I suggest
"Perfect, rose gold dresses" She says
"Rose gold?" I ask
"What's wrong with rose gold?"
"It's just so bright"
