Chapter 02 | New Beginning

What draws people to be friends is that they see same truth.

They share it.

I do not know whether this is the right decision to take. But their words kept ringing through my head every time thinking of today I am going to leave this town. This town has been inhabited for the last 11 years lately by all of us.

For all that, I conceive if I keep living in sorrow, I might not be able to move on. I take a breath then releasing it while standing toward the window in the bedroom. "Hufft... This is the right decision I make. Paris. You can do it. "

The sound of the door push makes me jump. I see who is entering my room. Daddy walks towards me. I look at him blankly with a smile on my lips.

"You can do it, baby. We're going through this. Together. California will be our new happiness," He says hugging me tightly.

A moment later we walked out by pushing the stuff we had packed. I pull my orange suitcase holding the bunny doll Daddy bought yesterday. Upon arriving at the yard, I see a taxi coming to our house. Also, I see the taxi driver get out of the car helping Daddy and Peter to put in our stuff. I am still waiting for them entering our suitcases into the trunk.

While hugging my bunny doll, I look down at my little leg. My brain wondered, will I find the happiness I dreamed of? If not, what should I do? Should I lock myself up again in the bedroom? Should I sit in the backseat of the class so they do not realize I am the loner girl? Mommy, help me.

I am just not ready for a new situation like this. My thoughts disappeared at the sound of Peter calling my name. "Paris, what are you daydreaming about? Come on. We'd better go before the plane left us behind."

"Guys, what are you waiting for? Let's go." Dad walks to us as we watch him at once.

Hearing that, I immediately get up from my seat walking to the taxi which parks outside of the house. I push my suitcase slowly staring forward. Before I get into the taxi, I see the house in front of my eyes. I smile then saying "Stay with me, Mommy. I will be your Paris. You will not be disappointed seeing me grow up." I enter into the taxi then sitting down beside Peter.
