This book will not be nice to you.
The premise of this book is the circumstance of being young and transgender in an unaccepting environment, which in itself is upsetting. But that is far from the only serious topic this story will delve into. Please brace for harsh and detailed descriptions of bullying, depression, self-harm, physical and sexual harassment, emotional abuse, gender dysphoria, and possibly other things I haven't thought to mention.
However, that is not to say this story is all doom and gloom. I'm not here to give you a garbage book that is meant to do nothing but make you sad, sick, and hopeless. There are enough of those out there. This story might make you cry, but it will also make you laugh and smile, and feel the pleasant warmth of hope for humanity. Some characters you will despise with a fiery passion, others you will love and adore, and hopefully hold close to your heart. All of my characters are flawed.
Put simply, my writing is realistic. Parts of this story are extremely upsetting because parts of life are extremely upsetting, and in my opinion, censoring or blocking off the horrible scenes of shit that too many real people have experienced in their actual lives-- that some have even died from-- is insulting. And it is primarily for this reason that you will never again see me using a trigger warning throughout this book. This is the one and only.
While I hope that making you aware of the content in this book does not stop you from reading it, I want my readers to stay safe first and foremost. Stay safe and stay strong. I love you all <3

This book is dedicated to all you teenagers-- transgender and not, LGBT+ and not-- who deal with shitty people that try to get you down every day of your lives, but still manage to persevere. And yes, that you woke up this morning counts as persevering. You're awesome. Keep kicking ass.
