"You feeling okay?" James asked as he drove, one hand on the wheel, the other hand holding Thomas'. He glanced over at Thomas for a second, seeing the bright smile on his face.

"I'm feeling great," Thomas said, sounding more sincere than he had ever been in his entire life. "Now that I'm out of there, and I'm with you. I couldn't be happier." Thomas gently squeezed James' hand. James smiled, nodding. "And I finally have you as mine, and you don't even understand how much that means to me. I love you so much Jem, I hope you know that."

"I do," James said, glancing over at Thomas, catching his eye for a second. "And I love you too."

Thomas' eyes widened, his head snapping in James' direction. "You... You what?"

"I love you too, Thomas," James repeated, his voice soft. Thomas' face went red and he looked out the window, trying to avoid James' eyes.

"That's the first time you've said that to me," Thomas mumbled, still slightly shocked by the statement. "Do you... Do you mean it?" Thomas asked, taking a small nervous glance at James. Thomas rarely got nervous, but it seemed like James always made him a nervous blushing mess.

"Definitely," James said surely as he pulled into the parking lot. "Now come on, let's go." James got out of the car, Thomas following behind him as they made their way to Thomas' dorm. James noticed how Thomas winced at any sudden movement. "Tom, don't over exert yourself. You're still healing."

"Oh don't worry about it Jemmy, I'm okay," Thomas said as he wrapped an arm around James' shoulders. They entered the dorm, Thomas immediately pulling James in for a hug. At first James was surprised, but he soon melted into the embrace, wrapping his arms around Thomas. "I could stay like this forever," Thomas mumbled, planting a kiss on James' forehead. James giggled burying his face in Thomas' chest.

"Well I can't," James said, pulling away before grabbed Thomas' hand, leading him to his bedroom. They crawled under the covers, James making sure to not hurt Thomas as he cuddled close to him. "How long will it take for you to be fully recovered?"

"About two weeks," Thomas said. He looked down at James, his eyes scanning over the smaller man's face. "Oh my god Jem, the bruises on your face are gone!" Thomas said excitedly, cupping James' face with his hands. "Finally."

He pulled their faces closer, eventually connecting their lips gently, smiling into the kiss.

"God, I've wanted to do that for so long," Thomas muttered, pulling James close, sighing contemptibly. "And now that I have you, I'm never letting anyone touch you, or even look at you again." James chuckled, shaking his head. "What? I'm serious. I took bullet because some guy hurt you, I'm definitely not letting any douchebag look at you."

"Don't remind me," James said, looking away from Thomas, his eyes drifting to where he knew a forming scar was hiding under Thomas' sweatshirt. His face fell, a frown spreading across his features.

"Don't be like that Jem. Smile for me darlin', I love your smile," Thomas pleaded. "Please?" James gave Thomas a small smile, much to the taller man's liking. "There it is." James sighed, a hint of a smile still on his face as he shut his eyes, cuddling into Thomas. "Tired baby?"

"Mhm," James mumbled, yawning sleepily. Thomas chuckled, rubbing James' back slowly.

"Love you Jem," Thomas mumbled, shutting his own eyes.

"You said that already Tommy," James chuckled, looking up at Thomas through half-lidded eyes.

Thomas grinned, looking back down at James fondly.

"And I meant it."
