After my remark, the music started up and silenced any words that were going to come out of Leo's mouth. During the First Dance no talking was allowed, it was suppose to be something special between two lovers.

But Leo and I weren't lovers, we were far from it. Lovers didn't try to poison the other, but they might poison someone else if it meant keeping their lover safe. And the high priestess of Sayn knew that very well. After all, no one wants the head priest to find about your secret relationship-especially when it was a sin to be devoted to anyone other than your appointed celestial being when you were a priest. But what to do if the prince blackmails you with it? You have to do what he wants.

I had to give it to Leo, though, it was a smart move on his part. His choice of poison was one that would have taken hours to act up. When I used the knife to cut my skin, the poison would have entered my blood, and by the time the feast was over I'd be dead. All of the royals had personal testers that tried the food before us to make sure it wouldn't be poisoned, if I had been poisoned and the tester didn't show any signs then the blame would have fallen on them. And then Leo could have pretended he was sad to never had his chance at true happiness, and out of sympathy and no longer having an heir, my parents would hand over Kanethia to him.

And he would have sole responsibility of a whole island.

I was brought back to reality when all of a sudden I was getting spun by Leo. Remembering that right now instead of thinking I should be dancing away in the arms of my husband, I pushed my thoughts to the back of my mind.

Once we were back to our original position, Leo decided to change the dance up. Instead of stepping fowards me, he was dipping me. And then he was stepping back, causing me to step forward to follow in his footprints.

I realized what he was doing when I caught a look of his eyes, he looked angry, and he clearly didn't have control over his emotions. His plan had been busted, and he hated me for figuring it out. So, he had decided, and hoped, that maybe him throwing out random moves would faze me.

But I was Princess Sienna, I did not get fazed.

I matched his steps exactly, falling into dips, spinning when Leo made me, it was painstakingly obvious he was getting annoyed by how I kept up with him. That gave me a overwhelming sense of satisfaction.

Ha.

Leo's steps picked up a bit, moving back, stepping forward, moving to the left or the right, and so did the music. Smiles could be seen around the room, everyone watching and waiting for me to falter. It was obvious that we weren't performing the traditional dance, but no one seemed to mind. They surprisingly seemed to enjoy it. At last the music came to a stop, and Leo and I stepped apart, claps all around us.

The music started once again, and others moved onto the dance floor, leaving me and  Leo standing in the middle, a silence stretching over us in the midst of all this noise.
