Chapter 18 – Soliloquy and Balance
“Show me…the will to live.” Verrath said as grey rays danced around him now. The strange markings written on his grey cloak now lit up in a red color as he let the grey rays surround him even more now.
“Damn.” Seiryu said as he tried to use his darkness to form a shield around him. His eyes shone and lit up a bright red color.
“Fallen Son.” He said calmly as the rays now were blasted and focused on the long haired student.
He jumped up high in order to avoid the incoming grey lasers that Verrath had conjured around him. Each beam now was trying to make their way towards him, but it would seem that his darkness prevailed and Seiryu was now slashing each beam to eradicate them and protect himself from the other incoming lasers.
“Impressive.” Verrath said as he toned down on the grey spirit energy. “This must be destiny all right.” He said as his voice began to sound transient.
“I’ve had enough of your rhetoric.” Seiryu said as he let his darkness out in an abnormally high amount.
The leader of the Sentis noticed that his enemy’s darkness was very strong and it had intrigued him even more.
“We are enemies.” He said to him as the darkness of his enemy rage near him.
“No shit.” Seiryu said to him as he stood in his fighting stance.
“Not only against each other, but also we are enemies of Gaia in her eyes.” Verrath said to him.
Seiryu then stopped. What he had heard from the Sentis leader slightly surprised him.
“An agent of darkness and an agent of Oblivion” Verrath said. “Facing off in this realm that she herself created, convenient no?” he asked him rhetorically.
“Implying that the world’s goddess set this up?” Seiryu then spat back at him.
“I didn’t say.” The leader replied. “But then again, why should we fight as enemies when rather it’s her who put this curse on us.” He said afterwards.
“Curse?” the long haired student said and it had made him ponder more. “Shut up!” he said with conviction and darkness raged around his hands.
“Darkness is a curse, so is being nothing.” Verrath said to him as he walked around with his Swallow Blades. “If you really think about it, it was her who drove you to the darkness inside you.” He said as he was attempting to play games with Seiryu’s mind.
It seemed to be working.
Seiryu felt an uncontrollable force inside him as he tried to take charge of his darkness within him. He knew that he could control it, but this man in front of him seemed to influence his thoughts with his words.
“Damn you…” He said as he clutched on his chest. The darkness around him seems to fade as he was controlling it once more.
“Your control is very impressive.” Verrath said. “But even if you control it, a curse is a curse.” He concluded with an evil grin on his face.
“What do you care?!” Seiryu shouted at him and in an instant his darkness flared up again. He did not intend to do that on purpose though and this had surprised him.
“We are the same.” The leader said to him as grey spirit energy seeped through his body. “You and I.” he said. “We were cursed since birth and the burden will live with us forever.” He said to him.
“Shut up!” Seiryu said to him as he rushed towards him and attempted to attack him with his darkness wrapped blade.
The leader of the Sentis evaded his incoming attacks in a gentle and swift manner as the grey spirit energy around him then now tangled itself with his darkness. In a matter of seconds though, the long haired student felt his darkness going wild inside him and it let itself out in small bursts around him in the process.
