Chapter 20 – Separation
The shadows that formed around Verrath actually helped Seiryu get close to him and eventually land a strike at his torso. He then let out a smirk on his face as he held his blade.
“Pretty good…” Verrath said as he grinned. He attempted another attack with his Swallow Blades but then he was thwarted by the defense of Seiryu and his darkness
The long haired student then saw an opening and he jumped up high in the air. He held his blade above his head and darkness energy surged around it.
“Suichoku Danmen! (Vertical Cross)” he shouted as he landed the strike across the Sentis leader’s back and he flailed as he knelt on one knee now while he held on his Swallow Blades.
“This pain…” the leader said. “It’s familiar.” He added as he stood up once more. It would seem that even if Seiryu kept on connecting with his attack, Verrath was just damaged in a little manner.
The two fighters then stared each other down and immediately they again were in a clash as they swung their weapons at each other. Verrath let out a side slash and immediately he found himself on the offensive. Seiryu on the other hand parried the attacks and looked for an opening.
“Crap…” Seiryu said as he parried another one and saw an opening when Verrath actually flailed from the impact. He then rushed and swung his blade at him now and the leader backtracked to avoid the attack.
It had let him open though for another move.
“Dark Rage!” Seiryu shouted as a shadow ball appeared right on his hand and immediately he blasted Verrath with it. The elemental magic blast had connected clearly and it produced an explosion of darkness towards the leader of the Sentis.
The fog had cleared up and Verrath knelt on knee as he thrust his swallow blade on the ground. He looked a bit damaged now.
“Heh.” He said as he breathed out. “Pretty good indeed; your darkness is not like your friend’s” he said. “You actually can control it.” Verrath said in surprise.
Just as the two of them were in a heated battle, two figures had come from the grey void that had opened behind them.
“Just in time.” Vrede said as he ran. From afar he saw Verrath and Seiryu fighting it out. Yue followed his lead as they tried to get closer to him.
Vrede saw his former master knelt down on one knee, exhausted. Even though his power was absolute in this place it would seem that Seiryu was giving him a hard time in his own realm.
“No way.” Vrede smirked and Verrath heard him.
The leader then glanced at the two newcomers that had entered the core of the realm. Both were familiar faces to him.
“Well look who it is, the traitor and the favourite.” The leader said as he stood up and shifted back into his fighting stance.
“Yue?!” Seiryu said as he saw her with Vrede. “And you...” he said. “I thought you died.” He said as he readied his weapon. There were two Sentis members with him now.
“Relax he’s here to help!” she shouted, but then Verrath rushed at Vrede in an instant with his weapon. The red haired former member then defended with one of his sickles and the two of them were in a clash.
“You all are not going anywhere!” Verrath shouted as he swung his Swallow Blade at the former Sentis member and he received the impact of the attack thus he fell to the ground.
Seiryu then saw an opening and immediately he took it as he slashed Verrath on the back.
“Aghhh!” he shouted as he felt the cold blade laced with darkness and immediately he fell on his knees once more.
