NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! I screamed at myself.
I must practice more; I have to be the best! This has to be perfect!
However, the more I practiced, the worst I was becoming. My fingers cried in misery for a simple break, but I kept playing. The notes were screaming eerie chaos rather than singing heavenly silent words...but I can't stop. I can't give up right now; I'm finally getting it right!
Play, breathe, repeat...
Let your fingers dance along the rhythm of your heart.
The reed sliced deep into my bottom lip. My body was shaking from the stinging sensations all over me.
I... CAN'T.... STOP!!!
Play, breathe, repeat, play, breathe, repeat. REPEAT!! REPEAT DAMMIT!! QUIT FUCKING UP!!
I sobbed looking for a reason to stop.
Please stop... Please....
The world stopped spinning, my fingers slowed their pace, my jaws relaxed, then I came to an agonizing halt.
The metallic taste was revolting and thick. Dark blood seeped from my mouth splattering onto my light mocha carpet.
I sat there astonished by my "masterpiece" I like to call it.
You're almost there Violet...
A crimson smile spread across my face. Satisfied with my effort of practice, I cackled to myself.
It's perfect.
