I Can Always Count On You

Chapter Nine

~So here we go, starting my regular update schedule for the 2017-2018 school year. It will be every Tuesday and Thursday till the summer.

"Okay, okay. Don't scare me like that again, please. If something is bothering you come talk to me, rather than hiding from me..." Bon picked up his smaller boyfriend, giving him a piggyback ride.

"Yes sir. I promise." Rin smiled, holding onto him. "You can come to, Kuro."

'Yay! A walk!' Kuro followed the boys out the door and the dorm.

Konekomaru and Shima meet the couple at a small park near a river. "Bon! Rin! Over here!" Shima called, waving his hand in the air.

"Hey guys!" Rin waved from on Bon back, Kuro walking happily behind them.

"Hey Rin. How are you feeling since your accident?" Konekomaru asked.

"I'm great, I feel great, life is great." Rin faked a smile, hoping the others wouldn't notice. He patted his boyfriend's shoulders." Bon, please put me down please."

"Right, sure." Suguro obliged. "What are we doing today?"

"I was thinking we could go book shopping. I've read everything in my room." Konekomaru mentioned as an idea.

"Or....or....yeah I got nothing." Shima had shrugged.

Rin knew the others had known he wasn't a reader. He would put up a fight with his brother just for being assigned to read a page. "Oh! I have an I idea." The raven had said. "How about we go to an arcade? I heard that a new one just opened not to far from the school for students and stuff."

"Oh, I heard about that too!" The pink haired male agreed. "Some girls from class was gonna go. Then we can go shopping!"

Bon shrugged. "I guess that would be fine." He couldn't be tell exactly what Rin's emotions were like right now and it bothered him. He wasn't able to read his boyfriend's mind.

"Bon, are you listening? Hello in there!" Shima waved a hand in front of his best friend's face. Bon had zone off.

"What? Oh yeah, I'm listening."

"Good, just making sure." Shima had slipped ahead, Rin followed behind.

Konekomaru adjusted his glasses. "I'm okay with playing games too, just as long as I can get books later."

"Don't worry, man. We'll get you books." Bon smiled, watching his boyfriend and his best friend lead the way to the bus stop.

              ~~~at the bus stop~~~

Bon sat next to Rin, slowly taking his hand. "Are you doing alright?" He just had to asked, just to make sure.

Rin smiled, his blue eyes shone bright. No hint of sadness or discomfort. "I'm great, Ryuji."

The taller male looked surprised. Rin had never used his first name till now. He was surprised Rin even knew his first name.

"I'm really just ad to be out of that dorm room. I've been in there for way to long." Rin leaned up and kissed Suguro on the cheek.

The bus soon arrived ten minutes later, the gang piled on. Rin and Bon together in a seat and Konekomaru and Shima together in one, across from each other.

The raven leaned his head against Suguro's arm, mostly because he was shorter and couldn't reach. Bon found entertainment in playing with Okumara's fingers. Rin hands were surprisedly very smooth, especially for guy who fights with a sword.

Shima felt a pang of jealousy. He was jealous that his best friend got a significant other before him. The pink haired male didn't know if he liked Rin too or what, but he was jealous.

Konekomaru was happy for the both of them. He had never seem Bon or Rin so happy with each other. He couldn't help but smile.

They arrived at a bus stop a couple miles away from the arcade, so they had to walk.

"Bon! Give me a piggyback ride!" Rin jumped on his boyfriend shoulders.

"Rin, get down! You're heavy!" Bon yelled ever so slightly, causing his friends to laugh.

"I am not! Now hush, you're causing people to stare." Rin stated simply. It was true, a few couple stared at the two.

"Move along! Nothing to see here!" Suguro yelled at them. He was annoyed Rin had caused a scene. Rolling his eyes, he gave his small boyfriend a piggyback ride to the arcade. Kuro padding along happily beside him.

"Come on Shima, they're gonna leave us in the dust." Konekomaru pulled the pink haired male behind him, trying to catch up.

The new arcade was huge. Row after row full of any game you could possibly think of. The gang spent hours there. Bon creamed Rin in air hockey. Rin creamed Bon at Dance Dance Revolution. Konekomaru creamed Rin in skee ball. Bon beat Shima at PAC-Man by a few points.

Rin spent every penny in his pocket and so did Shima. Bon had called them idiots for it, while he and Konekomaru still had money for books.

They left the arcade for the book store right down the block. Bon, Shima and Konekomaru walked together, talking and laughing at Shima's jokes. Rin walked behind them with Kuro.

What's wrong, Rin? Kuro asked, looking up at the other demon.

"What? Nothing, Kuro. Don't worry." The raven shrugged, really unsure.

You just looked sad, that's all. Kuro jumped onto Rin's shoulder, then onto his head. Don't be sad, Rin.

"Thank you, Kuro. You're a really great friend." Rin smiled, only a little bit though.

Bon had noticed something was wrong with Rin since this morning. Like how his boyfriend hide behind a fake smile. He couldn't help but think about Rin's accident. It hurt him and Yukio emotionally. But it hurt Rin mentally and physically. "Go on ahead guys. We'll catch up, I gotta go something first." He told Shima and Konekomaru.

They nodded, continuing to walk to the book store. Bon was just gonna have to get his books a different day.

Kuro noticed Bon first. Boyfriend coming your way, Rin.

"What's wrong, Rin. You've been acting down all day. Talk to me, my blue fire boy." Bon took his boyfriend's hand.

"Bon, I'm okay. For real, I'm fine."

Lier. Kuro had said.

"Shut up, Kuro. I'm not a lier. Besides....I don't wanna talk about it..." Rin shook his head.

"Rin, please. We need to talk about this. I don't like seeing you this sad. Remember what I said? 'If something bothering you...'" Suguro wanted his boyfriend's to finish.

"'To come talk to you.' I know, I know. If we're going to talk about this please not in the middle of the sidewalk. Okay?" Rin squeezed his hand.

"As long as you talk to me, I don't care where."

"Thank you, Bon." He actually smiled a real one this time. Bon couldn't help but love it even more.

"Please, Rin, call me Ryuji. That is my name and we are dating." Suguro smiled. He allowed Rin to bring him somewhere to talk.
