Jenn's POV

I decided to book a flight home yesterday. I don't want to be here anymore, not right now. I need a break from everything. As I'm packing I gaze down at my phone and see several messages from Alyx.

A: Jenn please call me.

A: Please, at least tell me you're okay.

A: I'm coming over again.

Again? When was she here before? Immediately, panic kicks in as I pack away my last few items. As I'm about to leave my apartment I get this feeling, I know this feeling, it's guilt. Should I leave her a note? a letter? She's still my best friend, and that's all she will ever see me as. But maybe it will give her some peace at mind. Okay I'll write something.

Writing it took a lot longer than I expected, when I was done I placed it neatly on my kitchen counter. Swinging myself around I take a deep breath and bite my lip. My eyes scan around the apartment. Calmly I turn my back and walk out the front door, not knowing the next time I would be back here.

Alyx's POV

I'm on my way to Jenn's apartment again. But this time somethings different, this time everything seems much clearer to me. The corner of my lips start to curl up, I'm smiling. As I reach her apartment complex, I leap out of my car and make my way to her . Jenn gave me a key a few months back, I reach my hand into my back pocket and grasp on to it. I take a deep breath and unlock the door. Everything was switched off. Searching the apartment, I soon realised that Jenn wasn't here. Some of her belongings are missing? My eyes peer on to a piece of paper. Making my way towards it a lot of thoughts raced through my mind. I pick it up and started to read, it said,

Alyx,
By the time you're reading this I'll be at the airport, I'm going home. I should have told you or contacted you but Alyx I can't face you right now, and deep down you know why. The whole new girlfriend thing freaked me out, but if it makes you happy then I'm truly happy for you. I don't know when I'll be back. I love you. -Jenn

After Alyx is finished reading she let the note slip out of her hands and watched it flutter to the floor. She grabbed her phone and called Jenn. There was no answer. She decided to leave a voicemail.

"Jenn, you can't get on that plane I need to talk to you please just wait for me there, I'm coming. I love you."
