Y/N'S POV:

I tie my apron around my waist as I begin my long, yet tiring journey with waiting tables at Applebee's. My legs taking me over to a table with a family that consisted of a mother, father, and their two young children.

"Hi! Welcome to Applebee's, I'm Y/N and I'll be your waiter for the night. Can I start you guys off with drinks?" I send them a fake smile, but luckily the happy family doesn't notice.

"Can I have the double fudge chocolate cake?" The little boy asks, eagerly wanting the delicious dessert.

The mother's eyes avert to her hyperactive son, a light laugh coming from her lips. "Timothy, I told you need to eat an actual meal first before you go reaching for sweet treats. Now, tell the young lady what you want to drink and you too Lindsey."

I move my attention to the cute little siblings, their big pretty green eyes staring up at me.

"Can we get water, please?" Timothy points in between him and his sister, signaling that they both wanted the same beverage.

I smile down at the adorable kids, writing down their order. "Of course you can, sweethearts."

I take the parents orders and then make my way to the kitchen to get all their drinks. As I'm fixing one of the beverages, a glass cup slips from my hand and lands on the restaurant's floor, shattering into pieces.

"Goddamn." I curse as I begin to clean it up with a dustpan, earning some odd stares from a few of my coworkers. I throw the broken glass into a trash bin beside me, continuing on with my task on fixing the four drinks.

"Y/N, is everything okay with you? If I'm honest, you haven't been yourself lately and it's not only me that has noticed." Jack, one of my coworkers, states as he comes up beside me, a concerned look on his face.

I nod my head, hoping that it was convincing enough for him. "I'm fine and dandy! Silly me, I'm just a bit clumsy, that's all."

Once I'm done fixing the drinks, I place them on a tray and walk away from him, not wanting him to ask me anymore questions. Stalking back over to the family, I set their refreshments in front of them, cautiously since I didn't want to mess up by spilling the liquids on them.

"Are you guys ready for your fo-"

"Do you have a boyfriend?" My eyes are quick to shoot towards the little girl, Lindsey, a smile on her mouth. "Because if you don't then my brother here, thinks you're very beautiful and he wants to be yours."

"Lindsey, that's not polite to bring up to people you barely know." Her father states, giving a stern expression.

"It's fine, sir." I wave it off with a shrug, not minding to answer the adorable girl's question. "But to answer that, sweetie, I don't have a boyfriend." The word don't rolled off my tongue like it was nothing, and it broke my heart for me to even say that I didn't have the love of my life anymore.

"Well, would you consider going out with a young man like me?" Timothy perks up.

I bend down to his level, my hand grasping onto his tiny one. "That's a really nice offer for me, but I would want you to find someone who can make you smile whenever your feeling down and also someone who can love you for you."

Timothy sends me toothless grin, wrapping his arms around my neck, I'm frozen but I manage hug his body back. "I hope you find that same person too, miss."
