VIII - Stay a while

These silent prayers run down my face,
And scream inside my mind.
I'll try to hide this beast inside;
The veil beginning to break.

I find these words caught in my throat,
Spit them up only in tears.
Sorrow will swallow us all before
We know the end of the tale.

Faith holds in all of us,
it's armour beginning to shatter;
I knew you once now you leave
Too soon, we call your name.

Hear our voices, you are not alone.
We stand behind you watching you leave.
Now come back and don't turn around,
Fights can be risky to lose.

You turn your head and watch us,
We're telling you to come back.
For once you listen; you hear us cry,
We see you coming for embrace.

This is not the last time I see your face.
Coming back with us, you will.
Giving up won't solve a thing,
So come on back and stay a while.

You might even enjoy it.
