~*~"Alright, that was my boyfriend, Stephen. We have been dating for a little over two years. He is 21 and he is going to college at Berkeley." McKenna explains, almost everyone nodded in acceptance. I was still lost though, "So, what were you doing with him? You said you were getting more groceries." McKenna shrugged, "I was gonna get groceries after hanging out with him."
I glare at McKenna, "And why am I just now meeting him?" McKenna shrugged indifferently, "Cause Stephen had been busy. After all he is in College." I nodded understanding. I get it he is a busy guy but, "Why haven't you mentioned him?" McKenna frowned, "We decided to take a break, at least until I finish high school."
Now that I understood completely and ran out of questions I stopped talking. "So, were are my parents?" I asked after a couple minutes of silence. Eva shook her head, "Your mom partied to hard and your dad is out at sea getting oil. Why aren't you rich, with your dad working at an oil company?" I had to explain something I didn't understand, yay! "Cause my dad works for the oil company, he didn't found the oil company or any oil. He is a geologist, he studies the oil to see how old and what it's from and stuff like that. I don't really know what he does." I love my dad but not enough to hear boring details about his job.
We all chat for about an hour while we are waiting for test results. Finally I am discharged, Eva give me a ride and we start talking again. "So this is the second fight you've been in this week? How do you know how to throw these punches and where to punch or knee? How do you know the right amount of pressure to punch with to not break anything?" Eva is swarming me with questions and all I can do is shrug. "I have never took any real lessons. Everything I know I was taught by my dad. Before he as my mom got married he was really into boxing and wrestling so he picked it up. He is really good at it but whenever he would give me lessons he would forget that I was a girl." Eva nods, I wonder if she is getting dizzy from all the nodding? I mean this is what, the twelfth time she has nodded tonight. When we get to her house she commanded me that I was staying the night, she claimed that it was just because it was so late, but I knew that she was scared for my safety. Connor and Mitchell were at Mitchell's apartment and McKenna was passed out in his room. Eva said goodnight and walked upstairs as I got comfortable on the couch. Today has been a long day but I can't sleep. My mind is racing and I am also slightly scared that Lucas is gonna come after me again. How did he even know where I was? Did he know where I lived? The only people that know are Eva and the guys. Would they betray me? It doesn't seem like it, they all were genuinely pissed and considered. Oh well, looks like I will never know.
The next morning
In the morning I rushed over to my house to do my morning routine. Mom still isn't home and Dad is still working so I don't have to get any lectures yet. I get dressed in my favorite ripped jeans, a black shirt and an army green jacket. I tie my black converse and get the keys to my Rocket. I am sure those bitches learned their lesson. I grab my backpack and drive to school.
When I get there and park my bike everyone is staring. I didn't have time to do make up so I have the huge bruise on my face showing. I could honestly care less that it was showing, I wore my bruise proudly.
"Oh my God what happened?"
"Did she get in another fight?"
"Are her parents responsible?"
That last question upset me. I turned to the crowed and glared, "If you've got something to say, say it to my face! If you think this is bad you should see the other guy." As if on cue Lucas limps over, he tried to hide his limp but it only got worse. Mitchell laughed out loud, "Dude, you got beaten up by a girl!" Soon everyone else is laughing at him. "Shut up gay boy!" Lucas yells and the smirk on Connor's face was gone. "What did you say to him?" Lucas spat, "I want his gay ass to shut. The fuck. Up."
Connor punches Lucas and likely broke Lucas' nose. I could hear the crack from my position. "Don't you ever talk to him like that again. DO YOU HEAR ME?!" Connor was pissed and Lucas was terrified. He nodded and limped away as quickly as he could. Connor walked over to Mitchell and Mitchell wrapped his arms around Connor. It was a little awkward since Mitchell was shorter than Connor, but it was cute none-the-less.
"So do you guys have a past or something?" I looked over at Mitchell. "Yeah, before Connor and I started dating we were friends." "What changed? Besides the fact that he was a douchebag." I felt concern, Lucas is disgusted by the LGBT community. "I came out, I kissed Connor in front of him. He was disgusted by the fact that he was ever my friend. We've hated each other since." I nod, "So we all agree Lucas is a dick?" Everyone else nods in agreement. Alot of explanations had been shared in these last 18 hours. My head is starting to spin.
