She remembered the Wyvern as if she had been there yesterday. It was still overwhelming for her heightened senses-she still felt as if her lungs were being laced in smoke. It was absolutely horrible.

There was no trouble with the password. A mysterious folded note was left on the desk in her room containing the words 'Η ουσία της ζωής είναι επίσης η ουσία της διαφθοράς.' Which Akita had translated to mean: the essence of life is also the essence of corruption.

As much as she wanted to browse the unique items being sold, she had more pressing matters to attend to. In her head there were many ways the encounter could end. All of them tended to be on the unfavorable side. Akita could remember every detail about that man-most prominently, his predatory aura.

Moon was not a man to be taken lightly, then again, no one in the Wyvern's black market was to be taken lightly. There was a distinct sound coming from the direction she was going. It was some kind of animal. Although, it didn't sound like anything she had knowledge of.

Her curiosity would have to wait. She planned on arriving on time, in precaution of getting on his bad side. Everything was familiar, but different. Obviously some things would be gone and a replacement would be in its stead, but the claw marks gauging the door in a vicious warning stayed the same.

Before she could move to open the door, it swung open at the hands of the boy she guessed had visited her that day. Akita deduced by the shadow he embodied that day in the hospital was the same as his physical form there. Now that she got a good look at him, he had white hair similar to Moon and ruby red eyes that seemed to take you apart. He was darker like she was, and briefly she wondered if they had the same blood.

Shaking her head to rid such thoughts, Akita followed the boy into the room she remembered quite vividly. A shudder went down her spin as she recalled the feeling of nausea that came with being in there.

"What a surprise! You came~" a familiar, venomous voice hummed. She knew he wasn't surprised. The black haired teen set her gaze to meet with those magenta hues. It took strength not to look away under the intensity of his mischievous stare.

You said you had a cure for what's wrong with me, Akita said. The man grinned, eyes crinkling ever-so-slightly.

"I did, didn't I? Whatever could be wrong with my precious treasure," he queried. She hated the way he spoke with such a silky, innocent tone. He was anything but.

I believe you already know, so please stop teasing and let us get to the point, she replied. His eyes narrowed in amusement as he sat himself upright, crossing his legs leisurely. Akita felt unnerved by the way he looked at her. She felt like if she looked away, he would kill her.

"My, my, so eager. Have you thought about what making a deal with me means?"

Akita paused, her lips pulling into a minuscule frown. Of course she anticipated that she might have to pay some price, but depending on what it was, she would decide on taking the offer or not. For some reason though, she felt the need to be on high alert. That boy was not in the room-not in a way she could tell.

Moon chuckled, waving his delicate and long fingers in the air. Immediately there was a response, a worker of his appeared out of the shadows holding a large ornate box. It was foreign looking, trailed with gold and red designs upon its onyx surface. The vibe she got from it was unnerving and dark.

"They named you Akita, didn't they? Well, Akita, my proposal is simple," he began. Moon opened the box, which contained a black scroll, and gazed at it with unmasked excitement.

"If you wish to get rid of the voices in your head, simply sign this contract."

He held it out to her, the bracelets on his wrist clanging together to make a chiming sound. The golden eyed girl studied him and the object carefully, searching for any traps. There had to be one-that's just how these things worked. She was no idiot.

After a moments hesitation she extended her own calloused and scarred hand to grab the scroll. It was black and rimmed with red jagged designs, definitely something ominous. Even so, she unrolled it carefully.

There was only one other name on the parchment, scribbled in blood. Ta'thul Blackblood.

Akita shot her hand out to catch the feather quill pen that Moon threw at her, as if it were one of his daggers. The feather was black, almost like a raven. Signing the contract could mean a number of things; she didn't have much of a choice. The way Moon was watching her intently made her move like clockwork. The steel tip of the quill pierced her finger, drawing blood and illuminating the object in a brilliant shade of red.

She paused briefly, her hand merely centimeters away from the scroll, to rethink her decision. What did this contract bind her to? What did Moon want? Would it really get rid of the voices?

Did it matter?

Almost everything she had was gone now. If she did this, she could protect Sparrow and Obito...right? That thought alone got her to sign.

Moon's wicked smile alerted her of some immediate danger, but she was too slow to react. Pain blossomed in her neck as a sharp object was shoved into her. Akita nearly cried out in the sheer agony. Something had been injected into her, setting her body on fire.

Falling to the floor, the scroll fell from her hands and rolled away from her. Akita's vision was fading, but she could see Moon clearly. She could hear him clearly as he strode toward her, bending down to pick up the item.

"It's a shame, has no one told you not to accept deals from strangers? Poor little treasure, whatever will you do now? You won't be able to live without the drug-it will keep the voices at bay," Moon said. Akita bared her teeth at the cunning man, cursing him silently.

"I do hope you're prepared, because there is no turning back after this. You belong to me now."

That was the last thing she heard before she slipped out of consciousness, rage boiling her blood.

Q: What do you think Akita is? Why is Moon so interested in her?
