Later that night Bilbo was making fish for dinner. He and Maya sat down to eat.

"Thank you again Mr.Baggins for the food and letting me stay with you." said Maya.

"No worries Ms.Bain I like company anyways."said the hobbit about to take a bite of his meal, when the door bell rang. Bilbo opened the door while Maya was eating quickly for she knew there would be no food left in less than an hour.

"Dwalin, at your service." said a dwarf at the door.

"Uhm Bilbo Baggins, at yours."

Maya couldn't help but grin at this awkwardness.

Bilbo looked at Maya with confusion as Dwalin was walking inside. Maya simply shrugged her shoulders and continued eating.

The hobbit sat down again while Dwalin ate what used to be Bilbo's dinner.

It was not long after the bell rang again. Bilbo was astonished. He walked to the door and opened it.

"Balin, at your service." said a short, old dwarf.

Forgetting his manners Bilbo replied "Good evening."

Balin came in and reunited with his brother Dwalin.

"Do you know anything about this?" asked Bilbo to Maya.

"No." Maya lied. She couldn't just tell Bilbo she knows everything that is going to happen, even if she did he wouldn't believe her and think she is crazy.

"I have no idea what's going on." she was then interrupted by yet another door bell ring. "I'll get it."she said to a frustrated Bilbo.

Maya opened the door gently. There were two young and handsome dwarfs standing at the door.

"Fili" said one "and Kili" said another "at your service." said both at the same time.

Fili took Maya's hand and kissed it gently. Kili took her other hand and kissed it slowly locking eyes with Maya. Maya was flattered.

"Come in my dwarfs." she said with a bright smile. "My name is Maya"

"Thank you m'lady." said Kili.

"Is this your home?" asked Fili.

"No it's..." Maya was interrupted by Bilbo.

"More Dwarves!" said Bilbo angrily.

"Fili, Kili this is Bilbo Baggins, your host, Bilbo this is Fili and Kili." she said gesturing to each Dwarf.

    "At your service!" they said.

"Follow me, I will take to to the dining room with Balin and Dwalin." said Maya to Fili and Kili.

Bilbo noticed Balin and Dwalin moving around furniture to make room.

"Why are you moving that?" Bilbo said

They just ignored him and continued. Even Maya helped Kili set the table.

Once again the door bell rang. Maya let Bilbo take that one for she knew there would be the rest of the dwarfs falling to the floor and Gandalf standing behind.

"No no NO, there are far too many dwarfs in my house!"

While Bilbo was opening the door, Maya couldn't help but glance at Kili every few seconds. (she didn't know that he would do the same)

Finally he said "You are wearing very odd clothes." Maya blushed in embarrassment.

"I've never seen that kind of style before, but I like it, it looks very nice on you."

Maya smiled and said "Thank you."

"Idiot!" Kili thought to himself. "Stupid Kili say something nice to her!"

Suddenly there were eight more Dwarves in Bilbo's home and of course, Gandalf.

Maya went to sit down by the fire place while the Dwarves were raiding the kitchen and pantry. She was drinking tea, and began to think. "Is this a dream? everyone looks exactly like the actors in the movie. Am I going to wake up in my bed at home in the morning? What am I going to do if this goes on? Am I going to have to go on the adventure with them?"She took out "The Hobbit" book and stared at the cover. It had Smaug's eye with a reflection of Bilbo in it. She sighed then heard the dwarfs beginning to sing. She went into the dining room and saw plates and bowls flying in the air. She was laughing and clapping as she saw Kili throwing plates to Fili like frisbees. Kili loved seeing her smile and continued to sing and throw.

Maya gasped, she noticed there were only twelve Dwarves in the house "Where's Thorin?" she thought to herself. Once all the dishes were washed and dried there was one last knock on the door. Then there was silence.

Bilbo opened the door and there stood Thorin. Maya stood behind Fili and Kili with a face of both awe and fear. Thorin was invited in and was served soup and beer.

"Who is this?" he said looking at Maya.

All the Dwarves stared at Maya wondering too who she was. Even Gandalf the Grey was curious.

"This is Maya Bain" said Bilbo. "She was lost and I let her stay here for the night."

"She is dressed oddly." said Thorin.

"I am not from here" said Maya. "I was wondering around and I lost my way."

Thorin didn't reply and started talking about their quest.

"Excuse me Mr.Gandalf, may I speak with you outside?" asked Maya.

"Of course." said the Wizard.

"Gandalf,  I know you are very wise and I need to tell you something no one else in Middle-earth knows."

Gandalf just looked at Maya and nodded his head.

"I know everything that is going to happen. I know Thorin son of Thrain son of Thror. I know that you have the key to the hidden door, that Smaug lies in the Lonely Mountain guarding a great treasure. I know everything about the quest you will go on." she said then paused for him to reply.

Gandalf leaned down and closer to Maya.

"How do you know of this?" he said strictly.

"I have a book that tells of everything that is going to happen on this journey." Maya explained everything that happened from her going into Hallwood forest till then.

"Show me this book." commanded Gandalf.

Maya took out the book from her back pocket. Gandalf opened it but he could barley read and understand it for it was written differently than what he knows. But he looked at the cover and that was enough proof.

"I don't know how to get home Gandalf." Maya said, trying to hold back tears.

"Would you like to go with us on our journey?"

        "I'd be a bother wouldn't I?"

"You know everything that will happen and it will help us very much, but you cannot tell the others what you know, neither will I. I will persuade Thorin on letting you go with us."

"Alright, I assume it would be better than staying who knows where in Middle-earth. Thank you Gandalf but I should tell you this now, this journey will be more difficult than they think. Bad things will happen."

"Now that I know, when something very bad will happen I want you to tell me. Do you understand?"

"Yes sir."

"Good, come let us join the others."
