[The scene continues on a breezy Friday evening on the sandy shores of Hart's Bay. After parking the car and bracing for the worst, the blonde girl is surprised to find the stretch of land in front of her deserted, save a small golden-orange bonfire setting sparks into the quiet night air. Upon nearing, she spots a familiar brown-haired boy in a navy hoodie perched on one of the large brown logs set up in a diamond around the fire. After dramatically jumping into view from behind and giving him a scare, she plops down next to him with a wistful sigh.]
❝So you're not drunk.❞
❝Why do you sound disappointed?❞
❝Well, it was kind of entertaining and cute once I got past the. . .you being drunk and stupid part and having to pick you up.❞
❝I still don't really remember much of that night, to be honest.❞
❝Probably better that way.❞
[A small smile tugs on her lips as memories of a salty breeze and sloppy kiss on the cheek resurface while he winces and scratches his head sheepishly.]
❝Well, this time, I'm completely sober.❞
❝You know, I'm still glad that night happened though. I don't think we would've connected in the same way otherwise.❞
❝They do say, everything happens for a reason. I guess I got drunk that night to end up at Witschire's the next morning.❞
