Smile
Suction cup your lips to your teeth to freeze them into the smile you wear so well. You're face cannot hold it by itself.
The smile you know will fool everyone into believing you are fine and continue to do it until you forget your faking.
But you know you'll remember. You'll remember that you, are unlovable. That you, have darkness inside of you that not even the brightest light bulb could make disappear.
Your feelings were once so immense, a wild fire no one could extinguish, the strongest and tallest tower of confidence they couldn't push over.
But they put you out so quickly and suddenly you were taken aback. They managed to somehow topple your tower. And now?
There's nothing to show for it. Now you have to pretend nothing is wrong. You have to pretend like you feel. If you don't they'll ask, and you'll remember every wound.
